Actually, I have to amend my previous post. Who Built the Moon is actually outpacing Chasing Yesterday. CY 3 weeks: 126,441 WBTM 3 weeks: 131,828 In its 4th week, Chasing Yesterday sold 8,015. I expect WBTM to beat that by a decent margin this week. As a matter of fact, after 5 weeks, Chasing Yesterday had only sold 141,203. I expect Noel to pass that up a full week early. Suffice to say, if WBTM sells as well as Chasing Yesterday did while Noel toured, then it should be on pace to be his 3rd Platinum selling album. Uhm, did you get the memo? WBTM? has bombed. Why do you say WBTM has bombed?

Holding up pretty well for such a divisive album. He's done alright. Will likely outsell CY in the long run.

Congrats on that big failure Noel Gallagher. Retire now or sign a deal to Warner, they know how to sell a record
thanx.

It may even catch up to as you were at this rate I don’t think it will. AYW is on a big time roll. If anything it’ll continue to have long legs like Swift and keep selling at a good clip for months and months.

Maybe not in Uk. But worldwide both albums sold almost the same in the first week, so it's not clear wich one will sell more in the long run.

It's great HM is doing so well, and I love it, but I really think he should start to promote other songs, at least in the UK. He has been in a lot of big-audience TV shows lately that would have been a very good chance to play other song/s with immediate appeal like STHTF, TMWBTM or even DITW. This album is so much more than one song and he should let it show

Usually 2-3 weeks and gone for Noel. I think they’ve suspended efforts for single #2 (Beautiful World) which was actually released but didn’t really take off. No idea where the official video is. The moment has kinda passed to release it now a month after it was actually released but who knows. We were all wrong about the legs of HM. I’d have thought the BW single would get a vinyl release with a remix or two. Those are still MIA as well. Maybe for next years Record Store Day.

Interestingly, HM was shouted down as a terrible single choice, but I don't know if any other song from WBTM would have stuck around for so long, maybe STMHTF. I'm not even sure Beautiful World would have stuck around, it's not as much of an ear worm as HM. Quite honestly, I think HM might have been the best single choice.

I really like BW but I’m not sure it’s a sure fire radio hit like U2’s Discotheque was. That was a special dance rock tune. BW isn’t as dynamic as that and the French spoken word doesn’t scream hit single or play me over and over to the masses. Maybe the radio edit cuts it out down the road? Who knows. To me the obvious singles could be Holy Mountain, She Taught Me How To Fly and Black & White Sunshine. The latter might be too generic rock to garner further interest.

Weakest track on the album. You said it, generic. I think She Taught Me How to Fly is the fairly obvious next single. Although I could get behind The Man Who Built the Moon if Noel wants to freak everyone out. STMHTF is an obvious single contender if Noel wanted it. Love TMWBTM but it’s more of an album track to my ears.
