Couple cases of red wine and the reunion is on... Ride is playing the same day as Noel and Ashcroft is there with Liam. Dh and I are seriously thinking about taking our family holiday earlier than planned I was thinking of going there but couldn't find flights back to my country. 23. was one flight back but that'd mean missing Noel. 40€ per ticket not bad though...

Going to the Olympia tonight. I want to hear "The right stuff" & "Go let it out", I'll be greatly disappointed if he decides to ditch these... So far Noel has proved to be very consistent, if not inflexible, once he's found the "perfect" setlist.

Same set as the standard throughout most of the U.S. tour.

There will be little chance of a change up for the remainder?

What time did he come on in Paris? My ticket for Hamburg says 7pm, so is that 'doors' or support band? Trying to figure out when to get there.
And how long does he play for? About 1.5h?
Thanks!

Most gigs in Europe starts at 8 (support act) and 9 PM for main act. If it says 7 PM on your Hamburg ticket, it must be the time when door opens.

What time did he come on in Paris? My ticket for Hamburg says 7pm, so is that 'doors' or support band? Trying to figure out when to get there. And how long does he play for? About 1.5h? Thanks! Yesterday the band came onstage at 9 P.M., & the gig lasted until 10.45 P.M. approximately. It was a good gig overall, with highs & a few lows. Few young fans in the audience, mostly people in their thirties, i.e. Oasis fans from the 90's; it was the same demography for Liam's gig a month ago. I must point out that I saw very few people (almost none at times) filming the gig with their phones, they were actually enjoying it rather than seeing it through a 5" screen. Same setlist as the last gigs of the US tour, though he didn't play "Supersonic". I was a bit underwhelmed by "Fort Knox", I somehow expected it to be more impressive when played live. Then he played a handful of mediocre songs in a row, "Holy mountain", the pointless "Keep on reaching", "It's a beaufitul world" (it was getting a bit tedious by that point) & "Heat of the moment" which is OK (similar to "Full on") but not enough when played right after 3 below-par songs. "Riverman" raised the standards, reminding us that Noel is a talented composer, followed by "Ballad of the mighty I", another example of Noel's clever songwriting, which was greatly enhanced by the horns. His current band is so much better than the nondescript hired guns he had during his two previous solo tours, especially Chris Sharrock who doesn't pound away on his drumkit on every song like Stacey did. My only gripe would be that the bass is very prominent, sometimes it fits by enhancing the groove like Peter Hook in New Order, it works on the rockers & the danceable tunes, but on quieter songs (the acoustic ballads) I wished they'd turn down the bass which kind of stood out like a sore thumb. The tracks from the first NGHFB album & the Oasis classics went down really well, the crowd totally enjoyed it. Fans started singing "Live forever" a capella, after which Noel quipped: "I'm always amazed how shit this song sounds when sung by a bunch of lads. Great tune though!" "Dead in the water" was really beautiful, imbued with more feeling than the version released as a bonus track on the CD. Then a couple of songs which drag on far too long IMO, "Careful what you wish for" (I skip that one when I listen to the album) & "She taught me how to fly" which could do without a verse & 2 of its choruses. It's a shame Noel still won't play "Black & white sunshine", "If love is the law" & "The man who built the moon" instead, these are really great. Maybe we'll have to wait until the next tour for them to be performed, just like "The right stuff". "Half the world away" wan't the best version I've heard, they put too much energy in the verses when the actual song is a ballad, I prefer the "10 years of noise & confusion" version; but when they got to the choruses it was fine. I was a bit disappointed by "The right stuff" because Ysée's vocals tend to drown the other instruments, Gem's solo wasn't loud enough in the mix, & most of all although the horn section was summoned during that song there was no sax solo at the end. The sax solo is the best part of the studio version of "The right stuff" so it's puzzling they don't even attempt one onstage! I thought "Go let it out" was a mess, Noel's voice really doesn't suit unfortunately, it's too high-pitched, almost metallic. He sang the demo much better. This is definitely a Liam song. All in all, it was a very good gig apart from the tracks from "Who built the moon?" (he didn't play the good ones off that album), & he's finally got a proper live band. I won't be going to the second Olympia gig but I expect him to play the same setlist.

I was at paris on tuesday night and agree with most of what has been said especially about people filming everything on their phones! Phones only seemed to come out for the oasis songs really which im happy with because I cant stand seeing all those phones in the air in front of me! Crowd seems to be changing slowly with each tour as well, more people seem to be coming for noel now rather than just wanting to hear 10-15 oasis songs which is good to see, fantastic venue as well, reminded me of manchester apollo for 10 years of noise and confusion in 2001, such a nice change from arenas! And just have to blow off some steam by saying thanks for nothing to sncf (french rail) for going on strike and turning what should have been a pleasant 1h 30min train journey to paris into a 5h 30min, 300 mile drive( and again for the return trip ) On a brighter note I did meet mike rowe in the street, lovely fella and a nice bonus!

I pretty much agree with what Derrick said about the Paris show: The new songs are a bit too repetitive for a live setting. They work ok on the record but live, they could be shortened. Noel needs to ditch the shit songs from CY : Mighty I and Heat of the Moment are easily forgettable although they are a bit more listenable than on the previous tour. I find Riverman not suited for the live shows too. I also dont get the point of the Right Stuff, it's a chill song you enjoy lying on your couch. Not made for live. Dead in the Water was absolutely phenomenal, It's probable the first time i've seen an Oasis related audience completely silent, It's one of those magical moments where everything disappear around you. Same goes for DLBIA and Half the world away. Also agree about the lack of If love is the law and The man who built the moon, especially the later, which could be HUGE with that band. Coz yes, that NGHFB version is way better than the previous one. Gem brings life to the lead parts, and Sharrock is Sharrock. Add to that the superb basse playing and mister piano surfer Rowe (i love the way he plays the damn instrument) : best band Noel's ever had. I also appreciate the fact that Noel decided to play smaller venues, he could easily have booked a Zenith for one night and be done with it. So much better in the Olympia.

andymorris: You pretty much saying what I was thinking about his current setlist - especially the CY songs. See him next Thursday in Munich and have to say I'm less excited about it compared to previous tours. Also don't need him to do Go Let It Out(even if it was a surprise), Supersonic or Champagne Supernova as they not working well in that version to me and I prefer Liam singing them. For example Gas Panic and Falling Down would have been a good addition and fit the WBTM kinda sound.

With his current band it would sound mega. I'd like to hear "Gas panic!" as well, & I wish he also played "Where did it all go wrong?" with a stripped-down instrumentation like on Jools Holland, it was superb. I reckon he doesn't like the lyrics of that song...

Wow, just wow. What an amazing gig. The 'weakest' moments were songs like KOR & BCWYWF but even they were still very enjoyable because it was so good musically. All the other songs were truly awesome. Noel was in a very good mood and was clearly enjoying himself, the band, the music and the crowd.
He even played Supersonic, I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
Thank you very much Noel.
edit: After seeing Liam a month ago and Noel yesterday, I'm 100% sure they won't ever get back together. First of all the most demanding part for a reunion, Liam, is doing such an amazing job as a soloartist, so I think he's not 100% up for it anymore. He's doing more than fine on his own.
Second, after seeing Noel creating such a great show yesterday, with such a great band, I'm convinced he won't ever be able to give that "frontmanship" up for being together with Liam on a stage again. There's no way back.
And for me, they really don't have to reunite. They are both putting on great shows, each in his own style. These are definitely great times for Oasis-fans, without Oasis really existing at the moment. But it's more alive than ever imo.

Brussels...what a show! I’ve seen Oasis, Beady Eye, Liam & Noel solo on various occasions. But this was truly a brilliant night! The sound was spot on, you could hear every single note played (Gem!!!) and it was loud! And in the middle of that multicoloured band was the chief, in his own way he was dancing, smiling and just having a great time. He really seems to have found his place & band.

Pretty sure I've seen somewhere it'll be doors h5:30 and support h7:00. Unless support (Blossoms?) have a full set that'll leave a lot of waiting between support and NG. (presuming he will go on at h9:00)

If Love Is The Law was played during the soundcheck in Hamburg With the tiniest of changes - - move She Taught... back to #5 - re-add Black and White Sunshine after Be Careful... - add If Love Is The Law and Man Who Built The Moon after Wonderwall ...the setlist could be practically perfect.
