I noticed a lisp during Champagne Supernova but other than that I never notice an american accent when singing as some people are mentioning. Can anyone direct me to a british singing accent vs the american one? Listen to Paul Weller in The Jam, Ian Brown, Morrissey, Damon Albarn etc..loads really. They're all singing with a British accent, albeit probably exaggerated at times for effect. Noel definitely does sing with an American twang though and it's become stronger over the last few years. I don't think he ever sang with a distinct British accent anyway, it was fairly neutral, but it has definitely developed into a more American accent at times. It's not really a big deal though, a lot of people seem to do it. Never quite understood it myself as an English person because it's not natural to do so.

I've noticed a bit of a lisp in Noels voice as far back as 2000.
Some of the b-sides and demos from that era sound like he has a bit of a lisp but I'm pretty sure it was just the recording style or his mic technique, which is why it wasn't on everything he sang.
Listen to One Way Road as an example:
Seems to be the same thing going on with his recent live stuff that's all, don't think there's anything weird going on with his voice.

This at 1:29 is quite funny, can't recall Noel doing this on any other live song (nor any other live Helter Skelter version):

I'd much rather he dusted that off and played it instead of AYNIL. Andy, Gem and Alan used to really shine on it too.
