DGSS got solid reviews, remember. Not because it was a solid album, but because people weren't expecting much from Liam. Same thing holds true here. (Oh, and the fact that Liam has people writing songs for him).

Glad we already have a solid review!
But like any review, negative or positive, I'll wait till I hear it myself to judge.

(Oh, and the fact that Liam has people writing songs for him). How does it hold true? Given that people have been expecting music from Liam now for over a year now and the two BE albums before it would suggest to me he probably has less goodwill in the bank when it comes to the reviews, there are also reviewers who probably won't put much stock in the fact he's had people writing for him. It will have to be decent to get decent reviews rather than based on the shock of Liam releasing music and his own songs will also have to hold up next to those written for him, any glaring difference in quality will be seized upon by the music press.

We've heard it all, bar Come Back To Me, well all of us except those with superhuman willpower. We know it's going to be good, Wall Of Glass is a high watermark and the lesser stuff like IGB/YBR/UG/FWIW are all top tier Beady Eye quality.
So I'm looking forward to the more descriptive reviews. That guy may have literally just listened to the live takes, there's nothing in that article that suggests he's heard anything we haven't, it seems intentionally vague. I'd be surprised if he's heard the album. At best maybe a 4 track preview and a few youtube videos.

Is it right to assume that none of the music people have heard, "Universal Gleam" and "Paper Crown"? Do they have to wait till October?

Used to serve the guy every night when I worked in the local. He brought beady eye in (when I was off at uni, the mother fucker). I believe he only mixed HC though.

I don't believe the Diffuser review is real. There's no new information in it and it's really early.

This thread probably needs to be merged with the one I created the other day.

www.plasticosydecibelios.com/liam-gallagher-ha-grabado-enorme-album/It´s a review in Spanish. I´m not very good with translations, but it´s the first review mentioning "Come Back to me" and the reviewer describes it as the richest production on the album, spectacular, amazing, like a new "i´m the walrus". He said it´s better than two Noel´s albums and last Oasis albums too...maybe he´s exaggerating a bit... but i´m really hyped for hearing Come back to me! For him, Bold is the best song and I get by the weakest on the album. On a side note, the reviewer is a great oasis fan along the years.

Looking forward to hearing Come Back To Me.

Come Back To Me was written in the same batch of songs as Wall Of Glass and Paper Crown so I'm expecting a great song.

If I never heard the studio versions of I Get By and You Better Run, it would probably still be too soon. Both are absolutely dreadful.

I was pretty meh about I get by when I first heard it. It's grown on me massively recently. If that's the worst song on the album then that's a very good thing. Can't wait.

You Better Run does have some power live but it´s totally a tune full of Beady Eye vibes.

Tbh if songs like I get by and you better run are the album filler then I'm not disappointed at all. While I can see the comparisons to beady eye I quite liked beady eye so I don't see it as the insult it's probably meant as. And they are much better quality than most Beady Eye even if in the same vein.

I actually think I Get By is a step above the Beady Eye filler. You Better Run, on the other hand, to me is very much Beady Eye filler to me

If You Better Run is the worst song on it I'll be happy. It has a feeling of Aint Got Nothing about it, pretty poor in my opinion. I Get By has grown on me, I quite like it.
