Hi.
My name's Toby and I work as an audio-engineer assistant at the Snap! Studios in London. I've co-worked with Dan Grech-Marguerat in some of Liam's upcoming new album, As You Were.
Being an Oasis fan myself since the 90's and often visiting this forum for news, I thought it'd be interesting to share some of the information with you.
No, I did not have any contact with Liam himself or any musicians. The sessions were already over when I met Dan to work with him on the mixing.
We've worked on the following tracks :
Bold; Greedy Soul; For What It's Worth; When I'm In Need; You Better Run; I Get By; Universal Gleam; I've All I Need; All My People.
I'll be glad to answer some questions regarding the songs.
Kind regards, Toby

Is this the album version or a demo of Greedy Soul?

Hi Jim. That's definitely an excerpt of the album version of Greedy Soul. Though they've looped the song after the chorus, it seems, cause it didn't grow increasingly into the verse again as the album version does.

That's good to hear for Greedy Soul. How about Bold how similar is it to live version or is it somehow different on album?

Bold is pretty much the same as its live version, although there's no horns or backing singers. Very straightforward song. Punchy drums at the end and some nice guitar arrangements.

All My People share similarities with the 2008's Dig Out Your Soul B-Side "I Believe In All", which I believe was also written by Liam. It's a short (around the 2:30 mark) and fast-paced song.

Ah, that's a shame. Are there horns or backing singers (or any other arrangements other than just guitars and maybe a mellotron over a set of drums and a bass) on any of the other songs?

I'm checking the live videos as we speak, as I hadn't seen them all. You Better Run and Universal Gleam have horns pretty much like its Glastonbury versions.
Greedy Soul has backing singers on the chorus. There's violins in For What It's Worth and When I'm In Need.

Some personal thoughts about the songs? What's your favourite so far?

I haven't heard them finished, as the album was entirely mastered by other people. But my personal standouts are Wall Of Glass, Greedy Soul and Universal Gleam.
For Liam's best performance I'd go with either Wall Of Glass or Bold.

I know that this is a thing that you can't know but some news about the next single?

Do you have some information about "I never wanna be like you"? Last song of the deluxe edition. It hasn't been mentioned in interviews about Greg Kurstin or other collaborations...so i thought it was recorded in the sessions you have been working on

Are the other tracks more like Wall of Glass (with heavy guitar), Chinatown or For what it's worth ?
Do you feel like the rest of the record, singles excluded, is heavier ?

Have never heard of "Never Wanna Be Like You" either.

The second half of When I'm In Need and the entirety of You Better Run and I Get By are pretty heavy sounding. Punchy drums. Loud, compressed guitars.

I don't recall 100% the vocal effects on For What It's Worth. But lots of usual stuff. Reverb, a bit of compression, a bit of Melodyne.

Do you know what the bonus tracks for the Japan release are? Has Eh La been recorded in the studio?
So excited for this album.

I don't have any information on singles or b-sides. I don't take part on any of these things. Hope you understand.

Two questions.
Does Greedy Soul build to a "fuller" sound throughout the song, or does it just kind of continue with the kind of stripped back sound as the clip Jim linked to?
Can you recall if LG is pitched up on Universal Gleam, Bold, and I Get By? Or does he sing it in the same key as the live versions?

Greedy Soul does build up to a heavier sound, especially at the solo and last chorus. Some guitars kick in and we applied a New York compression to the drums at some point.
There's not been pitching changing in any other song than For What It's Worth. They're all in the same key.
