Radio X just posted a photo of Liam on facebook with the following sentence:
"TOMORROW. 8AM. We've got a special announcement..."
Maybe this is about the single? But can't believe it will be FWIW. If that's the "big song" I don't think they will release it so randomly.

Arcade Fire told us that society wants EVERYTHING NOW. What happened??? Who gives a fuck what they say? I don't think its wise to unleash For What Its Worth tomorrow. album is TWO months away.

So many of us are stuck in that mentality of the slow rolling snowball built up of a tune or album. So many artists/bands release songs at random and they do just fine. People just want content. I do have a problem releasing singles so far early of the album. This goes for Noel too. If For What Its Worth is the best thing on the album I'd prefer it come out in September.

i always assumed they taped the Colbert performance to coincide when the single came out closer to the album and thus, NA tour.
maybe they're hoping the single will have longer legs than wall of glass?
in any case, that one dude who's been posting about FWIW will be pleased.

I think Greedy Soul would make more sense to release now and save For What It's Worth for just before the album but I don't care, give me For What It's Worth NOW!

If FWIW does well though, by the time it falls out the charts it will almost be time for the album. By which point everyone will have learned the words to FWIW and it will be the anthem of the album and the momentum is built that way? Just play devil's advocate of course

He could easily have just did a show in November when he comes thru NYC. The Ed Sullivan theater is a 5 min walk from Terminal 5.

I'll be honest, I can't see him playing the Barra's again, the demand would outstrip the capacity unless he played 2 nights at least. I reckon he'll play The Hydro with the top tiers curtained off. Gives it a capacity of 6-8000. Both Ocean Colour Scene and Richard Ashcroft have done it that way in the last year. One wee thing, I know the date is on google showing the 6th of November but it could be a mistake? Just a daft thing but could the date may have been entered the wrong way around? 6.11.17 - 6th November 2017 Or 11.6.17 - 11th June 2017 Liam did play the Barrowlands on the 11th of June 2017 but I could just be reading into a coincidence. Also the LG website had us sign up for early access to the winter tour so I'd like to think if it is tour dates they should be in contact asap tomorrow morning before a general sale.

Greedy Soul might be in the UK and For What It Is Worth could be the US single.

Who knows man, Noel did something similar with If I Had a Gun. And it was a disaster move. He had this crazy idea that the song would probably a big hit for him in both markets. Well the song was always overrated and the final studio version was flat and boring. It generated zero USA interest and came in the U.K. Charts at like #95. That's rock n roll mister!!!!

If I had a gun would of been a monstrous hit here in the USA of it got any kind of radio play what so ever .. No one here even knows it exists and when I let people hear it they are like wow how did that not blow up.. hard to break the market as a late 40's artist that only has one song anyone knows here .. sad but true ... the song is amazingly underrated if you ask me .

It's got bad production. Sounds murky in many spots. The ahhhs ahhhs sound like a place holder for real lyrics. Noel's people tried to push it with promos and Letterman show. The people just weren't interested. What A Life was much better. As was TDOYAM.

A new song is coming, that begins to be almost sure after that announcement...but if it is the lead single, it´s amazing the lack of build up it´s getting. Build up is not announcing it a day or two before it comes out...but if it´s a track just to keep the momentum going, something like Greedy Soul then i understand. But For All It´s Worth should only be released 3/4 weeks before the record comes out, mid September or so but if by chance it´s the track it´s coming out now...then it´s a very questionable call in terms of strategy, not only because of the distance to the actual record release but mainly because of the lack of build up. No teasers like they did with Wall of Glass, nothing, just saying it will come out some days before it actually comes out...brings me back some memories of DGSS build up and not good ones.

If it´s a new song, should it be up by midnight at Spotify or so?
