Is there nothing of merit that I’ve said to you? Nope, not really. You are clearly an intelligent person, but when you come out with shite like this: The EDL is tricky. I don’t think Tommy Robinson is racist, but some of his followers are (from what I’ve seen online.) But him, Anne Marie Waters, etc do have many valid opinions on the state of Britain right nowI am afraid I have no time for you.

You can think anything you like. You can also make yourself look like a bit of a numpty. C’mon then, let us mere mortals know why knife crime initative is so bad. Dying to hear this one. You have terrible debate skills. Insults don’t help your viewpoint. But on topic, it’s as ridiculous as the strenuous gun control a large majority of people in the US want to happen. I don’t think the mayor of London has his priorities straight Irony.

Let me turn that back to you - why do you think I think that way? No, that’s a question for you to answer. That’s why I asked you I already have, but you know that already. OK let me spell it out. The reason I would not give you the time of day is that you appear to be willing to give the likes of the EDL the time of day. I would not piss on any member of the EDL if they were on fire - in fact I would be reaching for the petrol just to ensure they were incinerated of the face of the earth. Does that make it any clearer?

I'm afraid to have any more opinions in this thread, so I'll add nothing to that Why would you be afraid to voice your opinion? Fuck sake. Back to this again. For all you preach about open-mindedness and not shutting down discourse, you don't half enjoy repeating the same lines over and over again, whether they can be applied to the issue at hand or not. Your insinuation here that all left-wingers try to shut down contrary opinions and stop them from being heard--paranoid much?--does not work in this situation because, clearly, funhouse was only joking about being afraid to voice his. How you failed to spot that is beyond me. I can only think it's that reactionary agenda of yours obstructing your eyeline.

Well, I don't think he said anything wrong. No one is hoping him dying, just stating the fact that his legacy would've been so different because his political views have obviously changed a lot since the Smiths times and many people who liked him in the Smiths-era despise him these days. Just like Oasis would've been viewed differently if they had broken up after WTSMG. The reason he initially had those thoughts is because Morrissey’s views are quite conservative, and conservative = bad in the current political/cultural climate. If Morrissey was super liberal, those thoughts wouldn’t have even crossed his mind. Conservative views aren't good for people, haven't helped many here. Well maybe a few, at the top.

Right OK, fair enough, a poll suggested that a lot of folk think that immigration could be the cause of various issues. You still haven't given me an example of the British government putting immigrants before the people of Britain. Or answered my other question - am I part of the people of Britain? See, my family are Irish immigrants so just wanted to check I am allowed to call myself British? Need to make sure I know where the line is drawn eh. The social focus of diversity and allowing an enormous amount of immigrants in to the country trumps what a lot of people born in Britain want, which is a focus on the people who already live there. They feel disregarded, and it seems that way in a lot of mainstream media. Same goes for Canada. Also, were you born in Britain? Then yes, by definition, you’re British. It’s a clear line. People who already legally live in a country should come first before immigrants. Immigrants are essential to any country, but a lack of control of it can be disastrous and work against the diversity that some people want Immigration explained. Britain would be fine with adaquate investment in housing, healthcare, transport but none of this is happening. That's a decision from the top.

The fairer and more even distribution of wealth seems like quite a straight forward thing that would improve the lives of the many. Conservative policy doesn't do that here and doesn't seem to do it in America either.

You need to earn your money, not get it from your fellow citizens through government interference

This is your regular reminder that socialism is worker's control of production and not wealth distribution or state ownership.
