When it comes to ranking oasis albums on how much I rate them, its usually pretty straight forward and I go with the classic dm, wtsmg, and so forth. However when it comes to these two, I can never decide which one I like the most. They've both got some great songs in my opinion (go let it out, gas panic, roll it over and falling down, I'm outta time, shock of the lightning) and some stinkers (pymwymi, icsal and high horse lady, nature of reality) however I still like them both allmost equally and cannot decide which one I prefer. So I thought why not poll it and let a bunch of strangers influence my decision.

I do think the songs on giants are generally better, however the sound of doys is much more enjoyable. Sotsog can become a bit tedious if im not in the right mood, however I dont like the majority of the second half if doys.

SOTSOG every day of the week,
I like DOYS but SOTSOG is criminally underrated. Go Let It Out, Gas Panic and Roll It Over are all in my top 10 Oasis songs ever. It should have been more with the songs they had at the time but it's aged phenomenally
DOYS last third is unforgivable given what came before

Both full of highs/lows and could have very easily been much better than they are if it wern't for laziness/impatience and poor decisions.
Love 'em both though in their own way. Great Winter albums. They both sound terrific played late on a cold night with some quality earphones after a few beers.
I absolutely despise PYMWYMI and Little James though. Permanently replaced by Full On and Let's All Make Believe, which are both terrific imo.
As an album, Dig Out Your Soul is brilliant if you ask me. The sounds are just a lot more interesting compared to SOTSOG. SOTSOG has some ok songs on it, but as a whole it's not really too special. The B-Sides are a lot better than most of the album tracks anyway, but let's not get into that...

Even though it has some weak moments (but they both have very weak moments), as an album I think DOYS is more enjoyable to listen to. I probably couldn't listen to SOTSOG as a whole without falling into depression. Also, I've probably listened more to the best songs of DOYS than to the best songs of SOTSOG and the bad ones too. I even like Muffins and High Horse on some days. Can't say that about Little James for example.
Anyway, both are better than the two albums that came between them and the production job is quite good as well.
I Can See A Liar and "PYMWYMI" are two of the worst songs to ever appear on an Oasis studio album. No track on DOYS comes even close to that level of utter awfulness. And if that's not enough, Sunday Morning Call may be the blandest of them all. For me, SOTSOG may actually be the worst album of them all. Despite Gas Panic and Go Let It Out. Despite the existence of Heathen Chemistry and Don't Believe The Truth.

Pretty close for me, don't know which way to go...
SOTSOG, but get rid of the terrible twosome and replace it with Boy With the Blues, and DOYS would have a bit of an advantage. SOTSOG's best tracks are better than the best tracks on DOYS, but DOYS is probably the best-flowing and most cohesive post-BHN record through the first eight tracks. SOTSOG has some clunkers in the middle of some really good songs (PYMWYMI, Little James in the middle of GLIO, WFL, GP, and WDIAGW) that let it down some, but at least there's some closure at the end with Roll it Over (arguably the second-best Oasis-related project album closer)
