Let's be honest, the only reason why we're stuck in here for so long now are the bastard's posts that brought all the hype so soon, but zero confirmation at the same time. Liam actually was probably working pretty fast on this album, we ve heard about the demos being made in the Q interview and now it seems that the record is finished. Pretty good timing actually.Clearly the first single is just the matter of days so it's all going very well it seems. Chill out.

I think the album is done but... some people might believe it's not good enough. This.

I hope the time between the first single and album is max 2 weeks. Not 4 months like ITHOTM/CY.

Maybe some parts are being re-recorded......who knows, maybe we'll never know......hell, I woke up thinking it's Thursday but apparently it's Tuesday, what the fuck..... Whoever said the March 10th date also had reliable info. about BE, so.... Also, whoever mentioned the album being recorded is actually an Oasis album, had that same thought the other day.....both Noël and Líam recording at the same time....can't imagine the two wanting to compete with one another at the same time, especially Líam.....Noël's album will probably be more successful and take away from his spotlight, think that would really bother Líam. Thanks. It's Sunday. Thanks.

Like people have said, if it wasn't for Bastards posts we would of been pleasantly surprised if Liam announced something before June, that is after all the last thing we heard off Liam directly at the Supersonic premiere, we've had nothing official since then.
All we've really got to go on is the announced festival dates, it's all guess work at this point. I'm just hoping Dennizz is right about next week, if he is then something is going to happen very soon.

Hipster's answer: Tony Mac Correct answer: Whitey What would the wrong answer be. I don't know much about drums but always felt like Whitey was apart of the band. With look and is longevity. I prefer latter day Oasis as a band - Gem,Andy, Liam , Noel, and whoever. Just always looks more natural and like a band. Early days was just Liam and Noel, whilst the others are mere foot notes (no disrespect I love Bonehead). Chris seemed to fit in just as good. Zak was kinda the odd ball out. Latter day Oasis maybe looked cooler (I don't share this view) but it's kinda like a tease. Those guys Gem, Andy and the Spinal Tap drummers have literally nothing to do with classic era Oasis. The reason Oasis was still getting huge headline spots and global tours. They were basically actors playing a part. That's why I enjoyed "Supersonic" so much. I felt like my old band was back. I was reliving that awesome journey 1994-1998. I haven't felt anything like that with Oasis since Bonehead and Guigs split in 1999.

Here's the thing - all this talk is as it relates to the UK release. So far I've not seen a sign that it has a planned US release (I fretted about this with BE too, and it came to be - in the end, it was not released or distributed in the US, and had to be ordered as an import - and even that was difficult). I went through the sites of all the labels that fall under the Warner umbrella in the US, and not one lists him (and there would be no reason for them to keep it a secret - it will be hard enough to push here without hiding the fact that it is coming out to "surprise" people). A couple of the labels would be fairly obvious candidates, but none are showing him (they'd be smart to put it up as soon as it was a done deal to start building momentum).
So - I'm starting to think we might be running into another one of those piecemeal situations. I know Noel's second record had limited distribution too. If you have things together to create a presence (pr/media outreach, a touring schedule etc) then you can circumvent a proper label though distribution has to be in place whether independent or through a larger entity. It's not looking like Liam has set that up in the US. Yes, we're only one country but we are a mighty big one, and even just reaching your hardcore fans can add up number-wise.

I've noticed that typically with Oasis over the years they always announce when the first song is going to be played days prior. They have never pulled a Radiohead before with a surprise release...At least I dont ever recall them doing so. That's because both Gallagher brothers think it's 1965 and you have to behave in that manner. The traditional album release strategy has been dead for over a decade now. The mindset of the fans has changed. The way we consume music has evolved. Oasis and the bros seem like dinosaurs in this regard.

This plays into my latest post. Bands and artists don't really need a record company. You can just release it digitally on your own website. Music has no borders in my opinion and I hated paying import prices in the 90s, sometimes $20-30 for a 4 track single. Madness.

I think the album is done but... some people might believe it's not good enough. This. This? This what? How does one come up with such a theory? Liam seems very confident and recently tweeted about it. The demos got praise from Whitecross and the Qmag fellow... Again....Liam doesn't make this album if it wasn't better than anything BE put out. I find it very hard to believe that he will release an album weaker than both BE's put together. They surrounded him with top musicians, a good label, I expect to be presently surprised. I'll say it again....I expect at Black Keys big sounding album meets the melodies of Classic Oasis. Lyrically there will be some magic and some basic grade 4 stuff that u can remember after 2-3 listens. I'll be happy with 2-3 memorable tracks and a 7 outta 10....And realistically that is what we will probably get. Look out for quality sound and production to hide and distract many from the overall lyrics of the record.

To some degree, true, but with one really important caveat - they have to have an audience, and one they can reach easily, and those people have to have a way to obtain your music. And if you don't have a label, you have to be prepared to do the work that a label traditionally did - support tours (you need an agency to set them up), set up interviews etc. Just putting something out gets you nowhere. Beady Eye is a great example of that. I just worry behind the scenes it might be a shit show. While researching I see this mention of UROK co-sharing management with Debbie, and yet you go to their site and he isn't listed. Already a fractured relationship? Makes you wonder.

They never had a Keith Moon. I always judge Oasis drummers on their ability and I think Sharrock is far ahead of the rest. He made Rock n Roll Star sound like ti always should have.
