Take my money Disney, take all of it. Oh they will. Don't you worry about that. ... Anyway, I thought that teaser trailer looked pretty good. Not keen on the poster though (I know it won't be the final one they go with) - it's a bit too revivalist for me.

The poster has a strong Solarbabies vibe.

I'm pretty sure what we saw was just a teaser! The full trailer will probably be more engaging.

Decent teaser, shows a bit more than the TFA teaser. The poster is wonderful though.
Looks like both former master and apprentice will face off for Rey's allegiance. I imagine they're own personal problems (The tragedy Luke has suffered and Kylo losing his sense of invincibility and faith in the dark side) will prove problematic in training or in Kylo's case tempting her. As a result Rey will probably end up following a path neither of them want. As in her wanting to be a Jedi, Luke wanting to train her to defeat Kylo/Snoke as a means to an end and maybe not being the inspiring parental figure she had hoped Snoke/Kylo wanting her on the dark side*.
*Why, I don't know. Snoke already has the apprentice he wants, he's been whispering in Kylo's ear since pretty much the moment he was conceived, what he wants Rey for and why he fears a saberless Luke, I don't know.
There are so many story threads that could go absolutely anywhere and today has just thrown up more questions than answers. So excited though. Hopefully it won't be too long before we get the first full trailer

You can see it very faintly at one point when he's pointing his saber at the screen. Looks like a scratch now though.
Being able to heal surface wounds with the force is still canon right? Think he patched himself up a bit, it makes no sense for him to wear the scar as a badge of honour, that defeat would have been humiliating for him, I could see that scar being a huge source of shame for him which could be why he's healed himself or had some work done on it. The thin line down the side of his face is obviously extremely minimal compared to the huge open gash on his face at the end of TFA. that'll have to be explained away in universe and like I said, I'd imagine he's spent a bit of time healing himself

Been watching some highlights of the SWC as well. Everytime I see John Boyega I just wish they let him keep his natural accent and mannerisms for the films. I think it just suits the character he plays a lot better. Finn to me was just like a version of John Boyega who happened to grow up in an Imperial academy with a slightly forced American accent, which is no bad thing, but I think he lost a bit of charm and personality in the delivery of some of his lines due to the accent change.
The cynic in me says it was just because the producers (giving American audiences very little credit) felt they couldn't have two British speaking leads and changed his character just for that reason, not to suit their vision of the character. I can't see how after working with John every day and seeing Finn on screen that any film maker would think that was a good decision.
I think they did a great job with the other new characters, particularly Rey. Daisy Ridley seems nice and everything but I like Rey more than I like her, with Finn and Boyega it's the opposite way round.
Maybe it's just because the character didn't turn out quite how I was expecting but I hope Finn comes across a bit more even and natural in this one.

Isn't Kylo Ren supposed to have a big fucking scar on his face? Where is it? I didn't see it on the poster nor in the trailer. They prob re-thought the giant scar on Kylo. Gotta keep that face somewhat pretty. There is definitely a scar. Just not huge. He prob soaked in a bacta tank. I'm cool with it. Even Rey and Luke's outfits won't match between the end of 7 and start of 8. Revisions will happen.

In the Star Wars universe, only people from the core planets have a British ascent. Finn isn't from there so it's accurate.

If the third act of IX takes place on a forest world inhabited by teddy bears, I swear to christ...! This is prob the best outcome. Disney loves him and he did make a very fun and exciting Force Awakens. I was never on board with the Colin signing. He's overrated.

...Why just get Rian to do it if he does a good job with 8? Don't have much interest for these films anymore.

Plus he wrote the script leading up to that production. Guy prob needs a break. If he does another Star Wars film literally an entire decade of his life is dedicated to that.

I'm very confident it will be excellent but what if it isn't?

I haven't had any hype or anticipation for Last Jedi after Awakens - Disney clearly has a fan appeasing agenda and is forcefeeding yearly films for bloodsucking the fans at the box office (and easily works). Don't forget there's a Han Solo movie next year that is utterly pointless!

would be amazing if rey turns to the dark side while kylo turns to light. a badass female villian would be a nice turn for the franchise

There's like a 95% chance those last two shots are utter misdirection, although Kylo not being 100% bad is definitely a possibility. Him not killing Leia in the trailer points in that direction too.
The battle shots definitely look awesome.

I know It's a trailer. But 00:46 to 01:25 is probably the best concentrated dose of Star Wars ever made. The music! Absolutely breathtaking.

As a casual Star Wars fan (loved it as a kid but it hasn't continued into teens/adulthood), I honestly can't remember a single fucking thing about the last one. Don't know if I can be arsed with this one, we'll see what the reaction is.
