I think it's more of a risk if he doesn't play 1 or 2 Oasis classics, you'll get quite a few people coming away disappointed. As long as he gets the right balance between his own songs and Oasis/Beady Eye, all will be good.

I agree except possibly with Beady Eye, I wouldn't be surprised if the set list glossed over that part of his musical history and focused on classic Oasis mixed with solo material.

Guess what? It's happening. I know, sadly they say Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. With Beady Eye Liam made a point of not using his name and not using Oasis songs (first album tours had 0 Oasis songs, second album tours 1-2). So this time round by using his name and (probably) having more Oasis songs it seems to me like he's doing very different things in the hope of different results. Hardly a sign of insanity by doing the same thing over and over... ✌️

For the love of God please no Beady Eye songs...Unless it's "in a bubble with a bullet"
5-6 Oasis songs are a guarantee. It's not even debatable....Of course he's gonna do Oasis songs.. he wouldn't be headlining festivals if he wasn't.

He should just perform any Oasis songs that he's written himself. Songbird, IOT and BOADC are all brilliant songs that he should embrace, and not have to rely on Live Forever and Wonderwall for the rest of his life.

The decision to play Noel's tune being the nail in the coffin. People would have respected them more if they had played only their songs. Maybe they would have failed too, but with dignity >>>> so if he decides to do this again, eg play noel's tunes, it will be insanity. Would you respect Macca if he was playing mostly Lennon songs ? come on... In the long run, it's better for his solo career if he decides to avoid Noel's tunes. He's not gonna attract faithful people by playing Wonderwall and Rock n roll star.

He's not gonna attract faithful people by playing Wonderwall and Rock n roll star. The second tour wasn't a disaster because they decided to play Noel written Oasis songs, get real man. Correlation does not equal causation. It's arguable that not playing Oasis songs first time round was a contributing factor to the second tour being less successful, because they lost the casual audience. This argument comes down to whether you think someone should sing songs live that they didn't write. My opinion is Liam's talent is as a SINGER so why not sing some of the songs that made him famous (and which he helped make famous). I agree playing a full set of only Noel written songs wouldn't be a great idea, but he has every right to play several if he likes. By your logic, Oasis were complete sell outs for encoring every night with songs written by Townsend, Daltrey, Lennon & McCartney. I hope you left their gigs early as a protest against this affront to songwriting?

So thanks to bastardnumber1 we got dome really interesting insight into possible setlist choices. Personally I love the fact that it seemed pretty balanced and he chose flick of the finger, evil eye and self written tunes from oasis like Boadc. I am really curious about the live band and their gear.

https://www.reddit.com/r/oasis/comments/5py5tm/rumoured_liam_gallagher_setlist_credit_oasisworld/ hmmmmm...lots of Be Here Now-era songs on that list, which is interesting. If true, perhaps Be Here Now's reissue prompted him to revisit those songs? Regardless, that would be a wonderful setlist! Cheers!

It's true, but from bastardnumber1's posts it sounds like he was just trying songs out and it's nowhere near decided.

Let's be honest. People just want to hear the Oasis tunes along with his new ones. Nobody really wants to hear any of the Beady Eye rubbish, as that's exactly what it is.

Would always be happy to have Flick of the Finger and Four Letter Word in there and I'd like him to bring back Wigwam. The World's Not Set In Stone is a waste of time though. Evil Eye is a good song, Off At the Next Exit is better than anything Noel's done post-Oasis, but those don't belong in a live set.

FOTF is absolutely overrated beyond belief. I'd give it a MAXIMUM of 5/10. The pathetic video that was served up with it matches the tune. BORING.
