Hopefully it doesn't suck. How often do you find yourself saying that these days... "When I were a lad all this was fields and Hollywood made new films not just sequels and remakes..."

I'd forgotten this was actually happening, but the teaser trailer does look very promising. Nice to hear an echo of Vangelis' score there as well. The original is a true classic, and I hope this is a worthy sequel. Looking forward to it.

Hopefully it doesn't suck. Denis Villanueve has an excellent trade know record of late. I fear the same as anyone does with a sequel to a classic but, importantly, I don't expect it to suck because of this.

Ive never watched bladedrunner besides something to do with it raining a lot, a roof, harrison ford nearly falling off it and some guy saying something about tears or something.

It's such a great match with the visuals as well, bringing out the epic scale of the cityscape and the melancholy atmosphere of Deckard and Rachel's story. I picked up a copy of the soundtrack on SACD a few years back and it works beautifully in its own right too.

Well it all depends on the "version" you watch. Some make the movie so-so or below average. Avoid the voice over Ford one at all costs. I've only watched this one, its the originial vision Scott had in his head....

Well I saw it tonight and I'm afraid I didn't like it.
After getting home I saw it shared a writer with Alien Covenant so that explains a lot.

Oh no...I’m sorry to hear that - I’ve been looking forward to this movie for so long The trailers looked amazing - Denys villneuve is such a talent I have seen blade runner - honestly - about 50 times is such a favourite I’ve tried to stay away from reviews and haven’t been able to see it yet because I’ve been ill ...I’m really keen though What didn’t you like?

It's hard to say anything really without giving anything away. Probably better to compare notes after you've seen it!

Fantastic film that is just as good as the original!
Don't let the trailers fool you though - it's not an action film. A long, slow, thoughtful mood piece like the first film.
I won't say much more here now as the film is full of plot details and characters that are hidden from the relatively spoiler-free trailers.

Saying it is the best sequel undersells it as there aren't a lot of great sequels. 2049 is possibly the best movie I've seen in 10 years. It is incredible and I can't wait to own it.
