Great doc. The amount of early footage was staggering, along with how much in studio recordings exist. The movie definitely points out that the whole time at Knebworth was filmed (Behind the scenes, backstage, etc.). Didn't see why they digitally cut Guigsy and Alan at parts when they get plenty of screentime and attention for the rest of the documentary? Seemed a bit silly.
Also, was that instrumental of Talk Tonight coming from the multitracks or newly composed for the film? I read in the soundtrack thread from davidjay that the piano bit was originally recorded but not used in the final mix.

I loved every minute of it, great documentary. The amount of early footage was great and even though we basically knew almost everything from interviews it was a joy to watch, brilliantly put together.

Finally saw it two nights ago, as it was just released on iTunes canada. The DVD comes out Dec 13th, though I have a feeling the date will get postponed just like the BHN reissue.
I knew I'd love it but I was honestly grinning from ear to ear the whole time. It was so exciting to see and the bits that got me most excited were the little things. For instance, hearing 'But What If...', the Monnow Valley version of C&A (sounds rather thin), the vocal take of CS, and of course Liam doing Sad Song (which had been inadvertently spoiled for me - otherwise I'd have jumped out of my seat)
Read through these 24 pages and someone here mentioned the acoustic instrumental of Its Better People. That definitely stood out to me. I could listen to that all day. On one hand, its a pretty ordinary Noel-picking-up-an-acoustic kind of number, but on the other hand, its got that special Oasis anthemic, summery feel to it.
Although I understand why Alan and Guigs were cut out of performances, I still find it a little sad. It felt like editing incredible history.
I also felt for Tony more than i expected - not that I ever disliked him, but knowing he was the only one with a child at the time does put things into context a bit. Maybe he wrote about it in his book, I can't remember, I read it when it first came out. But I'm glad it got included in the film and I was surprised by Noel's response about Tony's side of things.
I really want to hear the rest of the Oasis story as told by Whitecross and his team, as they did this.
Yes, the general public won't care, but I've a particular interest in the pre-BHN madness, the post BHN tour period from 98-99.
I would love to hear their account of the fragile footing of 2000, the band finding their fire again in 01 with the N&C gigs (and bringing back some terrific songs from hibernation into the setlist).
I would love to hear how U2's 'All that You Can't Leave Behind' led Noel to take the back to basics approach of HC and, even though the album was their least best, the tour was terrific.
I would love to hear the fly on the wall story of DBTT's famed 66 demoed songs and to actually hear snippets of them.
and etc...
Oh and one of the best parts was the credits - nice to see us in there, as well as some generous chaps from the Oasis community whose names I recognized.

Debbie Turner (of the Sister Lovers) has the sexiest voice.
On men, a Manc drawl just sounds like a less unpleasant strain of the Scouse accent, to me, but on women, it seems to become something else entirely...
Thanks.

"What's the purpose of your visit?" "Y'what? What fuckin' visit? I'm not visitin', mate, I'm a fuckin' rock star! I'm here to steal yer soul!..." "Okay, you can follow me now, sir. You're coming this way."

Can someone please explain why Sad Song (Liam Vox) hasn't been officially released?
What are Management playing at?

Finally got around to watching this thing...
Good piece of nostalgia especially if you are old enough to remember this time period.
It does feel in many ways like an incomplete film though.
As many have said, hardcore fans like us probably got very little in the way of new material/incites from watching this. This period was covered at length by the press everyday. All the time after this period is where we have very little back story.
Overall a good watch. Don't know that I'll return to it very often though.
[EDIT] Also, just release Knebworth already. At this point, it's getting ridiculous that it hasn't happened.

Saw it yesterday. Got emotional in some parts like the family stories and Noel's comments at the end. Made me feel nostalgic for a time that I didn't even get to live! (I was 6 in 1994 and I don't even live in Europe anyway). My generation fucking sucks

Watched Supersonic last night for the first time since 2016 or whatever it was. Bonehead mentions one of the reasons for leaving was he wanted to write his own music, etc. Did Bonehead continue doing music in the years to follow after leaving Oasis/or in fact what did he do?
