To keep the trend that has developed over the last 10 (!) years, here's the official Arsenal thread.
Arsenal 3-4 Liverpool
Alexis CANNOT play up front. Not an option. I don't want to ever see that again.
The Coq was poor. Elneny was average at best. And Xhaka was well off the pace. I have deep concerns about these trio and how they supposedly fit within the squad. Not impressed at all by what I saw.
I fucking love you and hate you at the exact same time, Arsenal. It's good to be back.

If we lost 1-0 yesterday, instead of 4-3, would there really be as much backlash. Perspective? That said, most Champions lose between 3 and 5 matches total. So we begin with a massive handicap. matt

Going to be one helluva ride!

I thought Arsenal were worth more than their one goal lead up until Liverpool's equaliser, but they came out like a shot once the second half began. I think the title will be between the two Manchester clubs anyhow - certainly with their spending this summer, it's the least you'd expect. Really in the dark about who makes up the other two Champions League spots. Liverpool have the best manager in the league, but on paper their squad is still not as strong at least as four other clubs, I think Conte could do really well and getting Kante is a coup and Spurs seem to have the most balanced squad. Arsenal traditionally always the safe choice for this, and any blip like yesterday is usually tempered by a good run of form - but given the managerial quality in the league now the club are risking everything by constantly standing still.

In 2001/02 we lost our second match to Leeds (2-1), and still finished first. An early loss doesn't have to be fatal. Let's hope we can bounce back quickly.

Oh there's a chance Arsenal squeak out a fourth place finish and their fans act like they won the league, but I see them even struggling to finish 5th..... Thanks.

Will be watching Arsenal vs. Leicester (Defending Champions) later today on tape delay. There's nothing better than donning the Arsenal kit on match day - I feel like Nick Hornby in Fever Pitch.
We desperately need to win today, after last weekend's opening loss. Come On You Gooners!! #COYG

You would think that with this being AW's last season, he would have gone out and bought quality players early. I really don't understand why he's faffing about. Why hasn't he learned from last year's mistakes!? matt

Perez and Mustafi, bitches. Confirmed. Striker and Central Defender. Done. Mustafi is a great buy. I don't know much about Perez, let's see him in action before we judge. Arsene has signed ~100m this window. He spent some fucking money www.bbc.com/sport/football/37185258

Bit steep for a centre back no? Admittedly, I've not been following it as much in recent times as I've become a bit disillusioned with all the big money business of the Premier League, is this the standard of money being thrown about now?

Is that defender worth it though - never heard of him before. He's supposedly very good. World Cup winner with Germany. He's young, experienced, and we need a central defender badly as both Mertesacker and Gabriel are injured - it's a bit of a crisis. Personally, I think it's time Mert leaves, I'm intrigued to see how Mustafi plays alongside Kosielny.

Mert is getting on no doubt and any more injuries will only hasten his decline.

neither of them are anything special... mustafi was in the world cup squad, but was hardly used. same at the euros. hes pretty average.

i cant wait for wenger to leave just so arsenal fans can appreciate how much he does for their club. once he's gone you can kiss CL football goodbye. people do realise the next guy wont be allowed to spend big either? thats why arsene is such a good fit for the gunners.

Arsenal vs. Watford, pre-match musings:
We now have tons of squad depth, even more so when we add Mustafi and Perez. I don't think I've ever seen the squad so deep under AW (seriously)...
The players are now playing for their position, we should start seeing more desire for them.

depth? theres still no solid striker, let alone two. and the talent plummets in most positions once you get past the starters. not sure what you think depth is...?
