So if the Stones are the greatest Rock n Roll band of all time where do The Beatles fall in? Liam in NME Gold: "The Beatles were great, The Stones were the ultimate rock n’ roll band as far as I’m concerned. The Beatles were like wizards, where the Stones were the boys, man.”

www.theguardian.com/music/2018/may/13/how-to-grow-old-gracefully-in-rockA bit sneery, but it's the Guardian (already rubbing my hands for the comments ) and at least they admit that he is successful, even if it seems more praise for the campaign itself, ignoring that Liam apparently is doing something people like and missed, singing those Oasis songs and liaming. But what the hell do they have against Gem?! Especially as everybody that saw Noel is praising him for improving his band and it seemed agreed that Beady Eye were at least a good live band. Not even granting him his second name!

Also how is what Liam doing now basically Beady Eye??? Better tunes, better promo, weaker band aka the opposite of Beady Eye. Also they go on to say how people should not pretend to be something they're not, and not go out under a daft name, yet they should use an alias??? The Guardian are such hacks.

Oasis "glorifying" the 60s has always been massively overstated by the press. They didn't go on about that decade that much.
And so what if they did? It was a watershed moment for popular music and the arts in general.

I'm not a native English speaker and don't recall any interviews right now where he's called by his name. So the "G" in his name is pronounced like the "G" in "game"? Legit question though.

Yes, it should be pronounced like game or gold. According to Google he got his nickname from the Scottish footballer Archie Gemmill.

According to Paolo Hewitt in 'Getting High (p140) ' it was a school nickname bestowed upon a young Paul Arthurs due to his parent's insistence on his hair being closely cropped in style whilst other children had longer hair as was the 1970's styles. It stuck with him into adulthood and like myself seems appropriate as a nickname seeing as we both went bald early!

The DLBIA in this video is probably the best one I've heard, not sure if it's nicked from somewhere else or what. Also liked RNRS and CS tbh

Some positive words from the Jack Jones (Trampolene) about Liam in this piece: akamensmag.wordpress.com/2018/05/21/interview-trampolene-on-surviving-pete-dohertys-birthday-touring-with-liam-gallagher-and-re-opening-the-bataclan/He adds: “There’s no politics involved with Peter [Doherty] and that’s what’s so refreshing about him. Saying that, there’s no politics involved with Liam [Gallagher] – two completely unique people who don’t let any politics or bullshit get in the way. Everything is done from their own vision of themselves.” Liam Gallagher is a man who has personally helped Trampolene along the way, handing the band an opening support slot for on his latest arena tour and asking Trampolene back to support at his huge, sold-out Finsbury Park show this summer. Jack doesn’t have a bad word to say about the former Oasis man: “I had one really nice night with him, he keeps himself to himself, y’know. I don’t even know how much time he even spends with his own band. He’s always there on time, very professional, I’d describe him as like an older brother. He’s got a lot of wisdom to share.” Peter and Liam are two of the most famous figures in British rock ‘n’ roll history and the Welshman explains why he thinks they’re so loved: “Those two, they embody rock ‘n’ roll, maybe Peter the darker side and Liam’s the fucking poster boy for having a few drinks which is like the medium of happiness which everyone can connect with.” “The thing about them is their both front-men, the thing for me it’s really interesting to see everyone in the audience, people talk about writers, I’m a writer myself and I have a lot of appreciation for people who embody everything. They both embody the song, the ambition, the whole ethos of everything comes through them so the experience of the audience all comes through them so that person needs to live and breathe the truth because people are able to tell.”

BBC gamely try to persuade Liam Gallagher not to swear on live TV
The 45-year-old rocker will be broadcast live as he takes to the stage at Radio 2’s Biggest Weekend gig in Coventry, and the Beeb has made it very clear it expects best behaviour from him
Adele didn’t heed the warning, and Dave Grohl deliberately disobeyed them – alas, the BBC is still trying to encourage Liam Gallagher not to swear during his festival set.
The 45-year-old rocker will be broadcast live as he takes to the stage at Radio 2’s Biggest Weekend gig in Coventry, and the Beeb has made it very clear it expects best behaviour from him.
A source said: “There’s a poster in his dressing room to remind him that the BBC requests no bad language on stage.
“Once he’s on site, organisers will brief him in person about not turning the airwaves blue.
Adele swore 33 times during her Glastonbury set broadcast live on the BBC
The Beeb has reason for concern. After being told off for swearing at Leeds Festival last year, Liam remarked: “Stop the world I’m getting the F*** OFF.
"As you f***ing were, you f***ing c**** s**** t****.”
But a source at the Beeb insists the team warn every artist about their language prior to going on stage.
After being told off for swearing at Leeds Festival last year, Liam remarked: “Stop the world I’m getting the F*** OFF"
In 2016, Adele joked about being given a warning for her “potty mouth” as she delivered an impressive 33 swearwords during her Glastonbury set broadcast live on the BBC.
During Foo Fighters’ set the following year, Dave Grohl tried to break her record by repeatedly chanting the word “f***”.
With no Glasto this year, it’s over to Liam.
Meanwhile, fittingly, Radio 2 bosses have separated the two warring Gallagher brothers into separate locations in different countries on different days, so there’s no chance of a backstage spat.

He added of the gig: “I can’t wait to get there and turn it up.
"I love a bit of rowdiness – a bit of argy- bargy down the front.”
Hear Liam’s set live (with bleep machine) on Radio 2 from 8.35pm on Sunday. Highlights will be shown from 10pm on BBC 2.
I'm not sure why I found this so funny.
