No disagreement from me on Griezmann, just pointing out that Ronaldo was instrumental in getting Portugal through to the final. Ronaldos a leader, you saw it last night at the end of the game where he was acting like the manager and earlier in the tournament when he was coaching players before taking pens. He pretty much dragged Portugal through the tournament with assists and important goals. He was their talisman and ended up with a winners medal.Griezmann? yeah he was good but he wasn't Frances' leader (when they needed one) and ended up in 2nd place, he also missed some big chances last night. I'm not Ronaldos biggest fan but it's his tournament and cemented his place as one of the world's greatest. Even look at Messi who pretty much crumbled in the Copa America, then took the huff and retired afterwards. I think that's a total nonsense. It was embarrassing him being on the touchline, that's not his place. Would have loved to see him do it with Ferguson as manager. It always seems that Ronaldo does things for Ronaldo, remember this is the man that opened a museum to himself. Whether it be slagging off Iceland or behaving like a child in the group games when things didn't go his way, do you really believe the other players look up to him as a leader? They definitely look up to him as a player, who wouldn't. Bastian Schweinsteiger is a leader, Tony Adams a leader, Fabio Cannavaro is a leader. Wouldn't have CR7 near those. The real heroes of that Portugal team are the keeper and the back five's defensive qualities which allowed the forwards to pinch the important games. Ronaldo will get all the plaudits but Rui Patricio had the tournament of his life. Portugal did to France what Greece did to Portugal 12 years ago. Greece will never get the same credit though because Portugal have Ronaldo.

^Yup. Ronaldo is great, probably the best right now, but he got all this attention for his past performances. He had one great game against Hungary, one good one against Wales, that's it. He also failed when he had the chance to turn their draw against Austria into a win with his penalty, something that could have cost them dearly - Portugal were lucky to advance at all.

Apart from the odd game, and England's shoddy attempts, I didn't watch most of the tournament. Couldn't even be arsed to watch the Final, and seemingly I'm thanking fuck for that. The last International I remember giving a proper fuck about was Germany's World Cup in 2006. Everything since has been dull AF* *Euro 2008 was good mind, but no England. Thank's a lot McClown.
