Okay today i have tried recording with audacity for the first time on my laptop, my old computer has broke, had it over 10 years, so it's had it's day.
I have recorded a first track, i've then selected new track to record but the 2nd track isn't recording from 0.00 etc ... so then i have started all over again, but not recording track 1 from 0.00 but for some reason the 2nd track keeps starting a few seconds later than what it should when playing back. Does anyone have any ideas?
I'd really appreciate any help, i've been trying everything this past hr, recently i've been having to work a lot of night shifts so i'm not having much time to record anything.

Sorry, it probably isn't this, but could try Edit - Preferences - Recording and double check that the latency correction isn't massive. What happens if you record a third track, does it align with the first, the second or does it start a few seconds later than the second?

That sounds like it could work... Try testing it out first though and check it exports out as expected after deleting the first track just in case
