Found this very interesting actually. Liam sounds deeply unpleasant in this instance and it makes me wonder about the kind of behaviour Noel had to put up with from him.
I did wonder how the hell he didn't end up in a fight with Mark Lanegan from Screaming Trees when he spent most of their 1996 US dates with Manics and Screaming Trees supporting abusing Mark and calling him "crazy conkers, barking branches and tiny twiglets". Not the safest idea to rile up a man who is a) on crack and b) known for having one or two temperament issues himself.
I did think that Noel was exaggerating how close Mark came to actually going for Liam until Nicky Wire talked about it in a 2014 radio interview with Noel that's been posted on here in other threads. The same tour that Liam rejoined on the first night they said he singled out and abused a British fan in the audience for "wearing an Arsenal shirt"

I hope we get more stories like that in the upcoming documentary
Would I ever leave this company? Look, I’m all about loyalty. In fact, I feel like part of what I’m being paid for here is my loyalty. But if there were somewhere else that valued loyalty more highly… I’m going wherever they value loyalty the most.
I think that's a bit unfair. Conan was the one who brought it up in the first place. The audience didn't get the joke because they weren't familiar with Liam's persona. Many of them probably didn't fully know who he was, yeah.
Ha, that's not how chatshows work. Conan and Cohen will have had a pre-chat where they get a feel for how the real chat is going to pan out. Cohen will have brought up the fact that he has a funny Liam Gallagher anecdote and Conan will have given it the go-ahead, no doubt after asking 'Who is Liam Gallagher?'

while i dont doubt there is some truth maybe even 100% truth in the 'anecdote' His latest 'comic creation' is in no way relevant to the u.s market at all so for some people with long memories or people being arsed to look up liam could go 'or yeah thats what a northern chav is' (via all the 'antics' the u.s hated about oasis and liam) or be easy journalism in reviews to get the 'character' with cross references.
I really like do like SBC comedy tbh he's a funny guy, but Ali G (and borat and even bruno) were funny cos he was playing a stereotype and it wasn't him that was funny (as such cos he was) but it was funny that the people he interacted with didnt get it and bought the stereotype and believed he's was young black hoodie, niaeve foreign, gay model (obv starting the scrape the barrel) so it was their prejudices that brought the humour.
Liam is without a doubt northern chav (as such) but this seems to be stereotype without the clever humour just lowest common humour.. tho ill probably see it and love it as love him and do love me a shit good film
Liam has been getting a lot of publicity lately, from meeting fans to tweeting to this story... You heard it here first, some kind of major announcement will come soon whether its regarding music or not, a come back is coming soon!

Would Conan have agreed to devote 5 minutes to a story if nobody, including him, had ever heard of him?
I remember the day I saw that video for the first time, lots of coincidences. First I watched that Sacha Baron Cohen's video. After that I watched the "big" Foo Fighter's announcement and Liam was actually mentioned in that video too. Then later that day we were talking about Foo Fighters with my friend and he said I should watch that "Dave Grohl on Late Night with Conan O'Brien" video you just sent. I was really surprised Liam (and Oasis) was also mentioned there.
Dave Grohl loves Oasis. The band's tour rider used to have, "the band will not share their dressing room with any other band except Supergrass, Oasis and maybe Led Zeppelin."

After Oasis broke up in 2009, Dave Grohl was quoted as saying:
"The whole Oasis thing is a shame, We all love Oasis. We’ve played shows with them before, where I look at them and think ‘That’s the greatest rock band I’ve ever seen in my life’."

Guess that answers the questions earlier in thread about Conan not knowing who Liam is
Dave grohl given oasis love quite a few times in past but I'm sure he's supposed to be very down to earth lovely guy so can see why they'd get on
So, no one in the US know Liam Gallagher? Boring cliché. And who's the fuck is Conan O'Brien? Ok, in Italy we know about Letterman but not so much on this ginger boy.
"NME has approached Liam Gallagher's press representatives for a comment."
Translation- NME has rung Debbie Gwyther up and left a message on her voice mail asking "Did your other half threaten to take out Sacha Baron Cohen's eye in 2012?" Maybe they should have just text her
It does sound like a true Liam story to be fair, given his history of attacking paparazzi, Mani from The Stone Roses, a female fan at an OCS gig (allegedly ) and the Australia incident with another fan.
The look on Liam's face AND Mani's cracked me up... Made my day.

Hahahaha.
I shouldn't laugh at knob jokes but I found something even funnier in the article that image is from (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/4459303/Liam-Gallagher-has-got-the-gift-of-the-grab-with-Stone-Roses-Mani.html):
"Before the launch Liam joked: “I’m more nervous than Knobworth!”"
