I "saw" Arcade Fire 2 years ago. I was so tired and my legs hurt so bad I sat in the grass right next to the stage.
They sounded great though.

No Arcade Fire? Huge oversight. They only won Album of the Year for "The Suburbs" and have a couple classic albums. Some of these bands you listed vanished like a fart in the wind. The libertines, Hard-fi, Razorlight, etc. You gotta have staying power to be among the best of a decade. i think razorlight and the libertines are still remembered. ye sorry i forgot to put them in but that would mean having to do a whole new which is slightly pointless for 1 band The only thing I know about Razorlight is the lead singer use to date Kirsten Dunst.

Arcade Fire, with Queens of the Stone Age a close second.

Yeah I don't think as a whole she really cares, I'm cool with it too . In my mind she's like her character in drop dead gorgeous. Which is a such good shit film

It's the Libertines. There's actually no competition. I don't care that they only made two records, they have hundreds of songs and devolved into several noteworthy spin-off bands. There's a reason every 00s band that debuted after the Libertines sounds like the Libertines I 100% disagree with this statement. I think you are over estimating this band. Especially in America where their impact was little to none. Same could be said about Oasis' impact in the US (where they were forgotten in 1996), doesn't change that Oasis were the greatest band of the 90s. The Libertines definitely did spearhead (with some others) the whole 2005ish indie rock movement (which included Arctic Monkeys), but that's not even the most important thing for me - they simply have the best albums. No 2000s band can hold a candle to Up The Bracket - The Libertines - Down in Albion - Shotter's Nation imo, it's not even a contest. Brillant b-sides as well. I do believe Arcade Fire and Coldplay have some good albums too, not the biggest fan of how they sound though. Side note - I hate it when people hate on the Libertines because they don't like Pete Doherty. It's like those people who think Oasis are shit because their singer is an asshole, while completely ignoring how great their songs are.

That can't be said about the Libertines. The Strokes had a far far greater impact than the libertines ever did. They kicked off a whole movement of bands called "The....." and having that simple rock/indie vibe.

Did not expect Coldplay to do this well. Guess we're not as rock 'n' roll as we thought. Just blame it all upon...

Oh what, Arcade Fire's and Sigur Ros albums piss all over these bands efforts in this era! Okay in fairness I love a good few genuinely great albums here like Kid A, Rush Of Blood, Whatever People Say I Am albums up there along with a couple of other albums each by these bands, but I don't think anyone rivals AF and SR for their consistent brilliance for the 2000s. For major artists, I think they are the defining ones for me personally. But as these bands are not on there, and just to spite the haters and remind that they were a great act, I'll go for Coldplay.

Ain't nobody but The Beatles pisses on Kid A, Ammesiac and In Rainbows But Sigur Ros needs to be on here I agree.
