Just got tickets to see Fontaines DC. I can't find a thread about them on here. Their new album is amazing IMO. I only listened to the first one (I didn't love, but it's kinda good) and the 4th one (I loved this one!). I read the 4th is quite different from 2nd and 3rd (these ones I didn't listen in full, only a few songs on streaming), and it got me wondering if somehow it divided the fanbase etc I'm not sure if it's divisive, but I'd say it's their most accessible album yet. They haven't 'sold out', the songwriting is just a bit more melodic at times. I think it's their most varied album yet.

There's nothing that far out on Romance, it's just alt-rock, well played, written and produced. The only thing drastically different is their new fashion sense.

The more I think about - and listen to - 60s pop music, the more I believe that the Beatles, while giving birth to a completely new era of music, also destroyed a lot of interesting sounds in their path. Pre-Beatles popular music should be better regarded in modern times imo, for the musically educated songwriter did have some merits

I've read that Kate Bush is up to making music (a new album?) the other day. Her voice in Wurhering Heights scared me death when I was a teenager, but as I got older, I became loving her voice and songs and really appreciate her input. Would be wonderful to see her live once in a lifetime.

3very Blind Guardian song is linked to Beyond The Red Mirror using other fantasy works. Yeah I may have over thought it but reading that post on Reddit made sense.

Steve Marriott could've been the Led Zeppelin singer And it's weird to me because the Small Faces, in my mind, are on a totally different dimension to Led Zep, although in actuality Led Zeppelin got started in the late 60s...

Best band I’ve heard since kasabian/arctic monkeys

Was hearing some bootleg of the verve on their Lollapalooza 94 tour, was pleasantly surprised by a embryonic performance of This Is Music with different lyrics

Franz Ferdinand is AMAZING live. Loved every second and judging by the 5 or 6 new songs they played the new album will be really amazing. They are all great musicians and Alex Kapranos is indeed very charismatic as a frontman
