I've been getting into A Place To Bury Strangers lately, really noisy sort of electronic rock and shoegaze with fast drum machine beats. I can hear their the Jesus and Mary Chain influence clearly which is cool.
They're playing in Tallinn this Friday but there's another almost equally interesting gig in Helsinki the same night so I really don't know what to do tbh.

I’ve listened to it 3 times now and I do like it though not as much as the previous one, Resistance is Futile, which I loved. The opening track on this new one, Still Snowing in Sapporo, is my favourite track and one of my favourites from this band. The rest is decent to good, barring a few very interesting songs (Diapause, Blank Diary Entry). Mostly all mid-paced so you could either say it’s cohesive and uniform or too much the same. Probably more similar to albums like This Is My Truth or Postcards from a Young Man. Good sounds on there, I do like it but I don’t love it (yet) apart from the first track. Its their second album that goes to #1 in the UK after This is My Truth... That’s great new for the Manics. What did you think of the album?

90 percent of your posts are about who died. I come here to escape from that. Step outside cause summertime's in bloom. Anyway, I am watching Radio X most listened songs, is this kid Sam Fender worth listening and what should I listen first? Top Songs Last 7 days: 1. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Flying On The Ground 2. Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under 3. Sam Fender - Get You Down 4. Jake Bugg - About Last Night 5. 2WEI - Survivor (feat. Edda Hayes) 6. Kings of Leon - The Bandit 7. Deadfish - If You Want to Leave I'm With You 8. The Vaccines - Alone Star 9. Happy Mondays - Step On 10. Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop Last 30 days: 1. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Flying On The Ground 2. Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under 3. FLOYD WONDER - Here We Go Again 4. Deadfish - If You Want to Leave I'm With You 5. Anna Vega - Fashion Night 6. 2WEI - Survivor (feat. Edda Hayes) 7. Trampolene - Shoot the Lights 8. Happy Mondays - Step On 9. Sam Fender - Get You Down 10. The Vaccines - Alone Star Er? I don't think so. There's only about two or three of my posts which mention anything like that and I only mention it just incase there's people on here who may be fans of that band/person who don't know yet about it. Oh and incase you hadn't noticed summertime's over it's autumn now. My mistake, that's not you. But I was half-joking anyway but I am still sorry.

I liked the opener(Its their best opener since the title track from Send Away the Tigers), but it has a lack of variety and keeps on the same tempo. Some nice keyboard work on there, but I think I need more time to apreciate it.

I don't and wouldn't keep writing things like that all of the time anyway as I'm not that kind of person.

I sometimes forget the Rolling Stones' political impact especially in the States. I think, in some ways, they might've made a bigger impact there than the Beatles. Not through their lyrics only but by simply existing.
I was just reading Hunter S. Thompson's book about the 1972 Presidential Campaign and he wrote that both Bobby Kennedy and the Rolling Stones were part of the same movement; the wild sense of breakthrough in the late 60's where people thought anything was possible. It's a real shame he was murdered because history would've been very different had he been elected.
The only thing I remember him writing about the Beatles was when he heard John Lennon in the radio and wrote "Power To The People - John Lennon's political song ten years too late" and then went for a quick rant about how punks like him only get in the way when they try to get serious.

Gave the first spin to the new Sam Fender Gotta say I was a bit worried (as I usually am with sophomore records), but thought it was really damn good Maybe it's less immediate than Hypersonic Missiles, but there seems to be more depth to the lyrics and there are a few orchestral bits which add a nice touch too Paradigms and The Dying Light were the highlights for me, alongside Spit Of You which I've been listening to on repeat My only complaint is that the first half is a bit too samey in terms of tempo, not sure the tracklist is done the right way

Talking of new releases, James Blake's new albums is excellent He's moved on from the more minimalistic approach of the first three albums, this is definitely more melodic and "positive", jist like Assume Form was, but I feel like the songwriting on this one is much more complete and the songs are better overall

Are there any documentaries about the landfill indie scene in the 2000s?
Think it's been long enough for people to start feeling nostalgic about that? The film "Live Forever" came out in 2003 after all.
