I’m listening to Bob Dylan’s Time Out of Mind album today. Been meaning to listen to his later period albums from the 90’s onwards lately for whatever reason. I liked Tempest, thought that was a pretty good album, but I’ve not heard any others. Any fans here who can post their thoughts on later Bob Dylan albums? Also, thoughts on the new one Rough and Rowdy Ways? Here’s my favourite from Time Out Of Mind: Rough and Rowdy Ways is fantastic. His best album of this century by some distance, for me.

Jamie T is so underrated.
Unknown in the US, and under appreciated in the UK. Tune after tune.

Fun Lovin' Criminals are a cracking band. How come they are not as popular in the US as they are in the UK?

Another John Lennon best of compilation is coming out. How many of these do we need? I feel like he has 9 best ofs compared to 5 real albums. Theres obvs cash to be made as it would've been his 80th..... Pity its not his 9th compilation, then they could've called it #9 Dreams haha. I reckon theres been a fair few more...

My top-5 most listened bands since I got last.fm in 2017:
1. Primal Scream 2. Spiritualized 3. Jesus & Mary Chain 4. Oasis 5. The Smiths
JAMC have become really important to me lately. Can relate to Reid brothers a lot and they're just so good and cool I can't stop listening to them. The only album I'm struggling to get into is Stoned & Dethroned but all the other albums are pure class, especially Munki is super underrated.
Does anyone know any good JAMC related books btw?

From an Oasis perspective, a lot about Alan McGee which gives a greater idea of the kind of vibe these bands fitted into at the time. Also agree Munki's underrated (pretty much every album after Darklands is underrated aside from their reunion album for a few years back - an album too clean and sanitised for that band I think). My personal favourite for the underrated albums post-Darklands is Honey's Dead though - if Nine Inch Nails released that, it would have been heralded.

Thank god for Bruce Springsteen. Can't wait for this new album. Loving the sound too - if the E Street Band are committed to record, then it has to be live. Hoping for another late career blossom after the incredible Western Stars.

One of the best Stone Roses songs: Reni's drum solo and distinctive fills, John's shimmering guitar tone and arpeggios, Ian's angelic voice, masterful mixing - one of, if not the greatest psychedelic pop song ever committed to tape.

I’m going to listen to Travis’ The Invisible Band album this evening. It’s probably my favourite Travis album. It’s also the first of theirs I bought back when it came out. I remember there were quite a few fans of The Man Who on oa515 back in the day so I bought it based on their love of that record and how much I loved the cover art.
The version I have, a Canadian pressing, has two extra tracks after Humpty Dumpty, Ring out the Bell (which Dougie sings) and You Don’t Know What I’m Like (which I think Andy Dunlop sings). So to me, it’s always felt like a 14 song album.
My favourites off the album are Indefinitely, Safe, and Pipe Dreams. Dear Diary has such a remarkably eerie feel to it, I can’t get enough of it. The Cage was the last song I got into back then but it’s one of my favourites now. Last Train is such a dark and moody piece. Lots to love about this album.

Just noticed on Norman Blake's twitter that new Teenage Fanclub album is ready.
I wonder if Gerard Love features in it at all.

Love that banjo action.

cause i'm sick of being treated like i had before like it's stupid standing for what i'm standing for like this war is really just a different brand of war like it doesn't cater to the rich and abandon the poor like they understand you in the back of the jet when you can't put gas in your tank these fuckers are laughing their way to the bank and cashing their check asking you to have compassion and to have some respect
for a leader so nervous in an obvious way stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay and the rest of the world watching at the end of the day in the living room laughing, like what did he say?

Can't believe how much I've fallen in love with Ghost Stories this year. It's such a sad, icy, gothic little pop record. My girlfriend got me one of those planetarium star projector things for my birthday, complete with shooting stars and supernovas, and lying together looking up at it with this record playing was amazing. This is the Coldplay album I like best after the first two and Viva la Vida. I’ve only listened to it twice I think but I place it above all the other ones after VLV for me and you described perfectly why. That sad and icy vibe they had on this one really worked for them.

It's crazy, listen a massive fan of Lennon but I don't need any more best of's or box set's. For me get Plastic Ono Band, Imagine, Walls and Bridges albums and a best of (get Lennon Legend best of) and you got all you need. Yoko must have a enough money in the bank at this point to be churning out all these best of's lol.

Guy Garvey from Elbow said this is the best thing Alex Turner has written, and I think along with Star Treatment he would be right. It's got David Bowie Young American's/Station to Station vibe to it, some of Turner's best singing too. Should have been a single imo.
I don't care what people say about the great man's Let's Dance period, he knew how to write a great pop tune. I love Let's Dance, and Modern Love is one of Bowie's greatest song's.
This is the single version of Come Together from Primal Scream. Get's kind of overshadowed by the album version. But this is fantastic too imo. Underrated.
