This is the best Inspiral Carpets song ever: A really good song but I disagree. This is their best one

BLACK MARKET MUSIC (TheEscapist r-r-r-rework) 1. Taste in Men 2. Days Before You Came 3. Special K 4. Spite & Malice 5. Passive Aggressive 6. Black Eyed 7. Blue American 8. Haemoglobin 9. Bubblegun 10. Slave to the Wage 11. Commercial For Levi 12. Narcoleptic 13. Peeping Tom
This is addictive as the various drugs referred to in the lyrics. I'm starting to prefer it to Without You I'm Nothing.

Other band thought: I was reading an interview with the Pixies, and Kim Deal said she has no idea what any of the lyrics to the songs mean, haha. To me that makes the band even better, because I love the thought of Black Francis writing the weirdest lyrics he could think of, and Kim just rolling with it. Haha. She does pour her heart into those backing vocals though.

I guess Russell Pritchard is a fan of the Shakes too Separated at birth? With the latter going on to disguise her expensive privately educated roots and too close ties with a slavish Government (both Blair and Cameron)- even her Wikipedia page reads like an advert Wikipedia although quoting the Daily Mail for a positive reference was perhaps an oversight In fairness to her the media led 'child abuse' allegations (a standard smear tactic that unfortunately diminishes the real problem of such genuine allegations) against Kids Company were found to be without merit by The Met this year, but the National Audit Office report didn't make for pisitive reading NAO Report

Side 1: 1. Back in the USSR 2. Dear Prudence 3. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da 4. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 5. I'm So Tired 6. Mother Nature's Son 7. Happiness Is a Warm Gun
Side 2: 1. Birthday 2. Sexy Sadie 3. Honey Pie 4. Revolution 1 5. Helter Skelter 6. Long, Long, Long 7. Good Night
Missing a few of my favorites (Monkey, Blackbird, Don't Pass Me By), but still strong imo. Does it surpass the released version? I'm not so sure. Some of the great things about the original was that even the filler was charming (except maybe Bungalow Bill), and despite its length, it was never boring in any way. There was an odd sense of cohesiveness between the tracks, despite the diverging musical styles of the writers. A single album might not show that, and therefore not do the songs justice.

The White Album without Blackbird isn't The White Album. Can't take off such a classic.

Sebastian Bach of Skid Row would make more sense having read the article. After that tour if Brian really is out, given Malcolm's enforced retirement and Phil Rudd's dismissal maybe it would be bestcto call it a day....

The War on Drugs (who made my favorite album from 2014, Lost in the Dream) have released this cover of Touch of Grey. It will appear in a 5CD charity compilation.
I'm not a big fan of the original but I really like their take:

Creep
Wonderwall
Song 2
Bittersweet Symphony
Such a shame that four amazing British bands are reduced to these four songs in America, none of which are representative of their greatest work.

Are Radiohead still only known for that? I thought the critical praise they get over here was about the same stateside, and OK Computer was nominated for inclusion in the Library of Congress, which it duly received- Guardian 25th March 2015

Isn't Radiohead big in USA? Biggest certified album for the USA is 2,000,000 for OK Computer (RIAA certified) so whilat selling well maybe their critical is actually in excess to their popularity.

Though they've had a few number 1 albums in the US, and most people can recognize the name Radiohead when they hear it, most people can only name Creep as one of their songs. I was actually quite surprised when I saw that OK Computer (one of my favorite records ever btw) was selected for the National Recordings Registry, considering that the only other albums in the Registry are huge sellers like Sgt Pepper and The Dark Side of the Moon. Its inclusion must've been on purely aesthetic reasons.

Am I the only Kraftwerk fan on here? It's absolutely amazing how groundbreaking these guys were. They practically invented modern electronic music. You could argue that they changed music as much as the Beatles did.
This, in particular, is heavenly.
