Why are there so many people on the internet pushing the narrative that Noel's solo career is this big failure?

That narrative is only being pushed by a certain set of fans. WBTM was a downer for me personally but the NGHFB/CY era was awesome.
He could comfortably build a setlist based on those two albums and their bsides without needing any Oasis song at all

I was at the concert in Chicago 2018 but it was good but not special because I wasn’t a big fan of the structure of the set list. But then again I am Not a huge fan of WBTM. He definitely was in good spirits though and the band sounded great. I was at that Chicago show also, and thought it was great, apart from the fact that he dropped Black and White Sunshine. But even without that, there were a ton of WBTM tracks, so if that album’s not your thing then it would have been a bit of a slog.
Yeah, that must be it which is a shame because I really did his solo stuff outside the final two thirds of WBTM. I guess I just didnt understand the rationale to play no Oasis song in the first half of the gig. Maybe I was just in the wrong section but people around seemingly got alive during LBL

Which is fine, I loved WBTM and think it's his best record but opinions are opinions Him being a fairly successful act is not an opinion, it's a fact People are trying to push this narrative that he’s struggling or on the brink of failure, he's not

Why are there so many people on the internet pushing the narrative that Noel's solo career is this big failure? Considering Who Built The Moon was the most critically acclaimed work Noel did since the 90s, I can hardly see how people could consider it a failure, especially as Chasing Yesterday sold much much less than the debut plus fairly lukewarm reception with critics (this argument could have been made years ago then). I'm sure Radiohead or Springsteen didn't give a shit when they both followed up smash hits with something less ordinary. Sure, its divisive but that happens for any artist who takes risks or tries something different. Some love it, some hate it. I'm the former, and to be honest, if he is to trudge out the same album after same album, then that's what will finish him.

Since when was he doing a collaboration with Imelda May?? Song has been registered on publishing sites for a while, and he mentioned in a podcast episode a few months ago amongst the collaborations he had done during lockdown there was one with a female friend of his who needed a male voice on a track and asked him, he didn't mention the name, but I (and others) kinda did 2+2 Seems we were right

And while I am still here, a thought for today: I will never get tired of the Riverman chorus

Hasn't this always been the state of Bez? That doesn't make it right. He's about 65 dressed like straight outta Compton.

The NGHFB show at the Rivera in Chicago in 2015 was on his birthday...maybe the best concert I've ever seen. It was hot and LOUD in there that night. They blew a fuse or something during the Mexican.... got it fixed and it did not kill the momentum of the show at all. What an amazing evening that was!

I wish that Noel would do more songs like Falling Down as it's such a great song and I've always liked it. Infact I think that it's probably better than anything on the Who Built The Moon album.

I can't understand why Noel doesn't play Falling Down live as he played it in Oasis's concerts in 2009. So what's wrong with him bringing it back now?

In the future... Blue Moon Rising/whatever other EP dance stuff, What A Life, then Falling Down, before the encore.
