they could do a supersonic 2 easy. supersonic stops as soon as it's about to get even funnier. there's the VMAs, the US tour, noel walking out, the making of be here now (featuring johnny depp), liam challenging mick jagger (amongst others) to a fight & calling george harrison a nipple, and the be here now tour in general then you have bonehead and guigs leaving (which has never been covered properly), noel walking out in 2000, and wembley night 2. you can condense 2002-2008 and skip to the interesting stuff surrounding the split. there's the story of noel and liam having a fight in a hotel room not long before they split up , and probably more fights we havent heard about yet from that period i'd also wager there's far more behind the scenes footage from 96 onwards than there was for 94-96. i believe noel said the making of be here now was all recorded for a documentary, and we already know they are sitting on a bunch of footage from the be here now tour OMG I thought I was the only one who remembered this story. Can you find the source of it? I swear Noel talked about it between the split and his NGHFB presser and I just can't find it anywhere. HE was pretty candid and talked about how Liam wanted out of the band and was pretty nasty to Sarah. Paul was supposedly there too. i don't know i think i heard him tell it on one of the matt morgan podcasts he did within the last couple of years. they rolled around in some hotel room then he had to go back to the room afterwards and get sarah's bag

On this day in 2010 Oasis released their Time Flies album. Is it really that long ago already?

Spoiler alert: today's 2-Down clue on the New York Times mini Crossword Puzzle is "Wonderwall" band (5 letters). I suppose that this proves what they are best known for here in the US.

I haven't listened to Time Flies in a very long time or watched the dvd. I guess these days many people make their own Oasis play lists on streaming sites.

Nah, it makes sense when Stop The Clocks is the snapshot of where the band was at the time, Time Flies is the realization of it then only being 15 years since Supersonic first came out.

That’s just made me realise that next year it'll be the same number of years since Oasis split up as there was between Definitely Maybe and Dig Out Your Soul!!
Time really does fly

I do the NY Times mini crossword everyday! I wish that I had the time to do the full one. This wasn't the first time that I've seen the word "oasis" as an answer, but definitely the first time I've seen the clue be about the band and not the desert phenomenon.

Cool. Never imagined running across that exceptionally rare person equally up for crosswords and Oasis. Used to do the Sunday puzzle religiously for years (but then I stopped my subscription and got my Sunday back hahaha.) I do remember there once being a clue along the lines of "The genre of Oasis and Blur," which I suppose was meant to be challenging for Americans! Perhaps more 90s kids are writing the puzzles ...

I think the 2016 reissue of Be Here Now might be out of print on vinyl. I remember last year I saw it in HMV but i never got round to buying it; i went today and its not there, or anywhere online. I cant even find a used copy of the reissue for less than about £60. Was this known? Still can’t believe this. For the last 6 months, BHN has been listed as sold out on the HMV website. The big main Liverpool store hasn’t had it for about a year, nor has my parents’ nearest branch in Blackpool. Both of which are large cities/towns. Today I went back to my hometown for a visit, which is Harrogate in Yorkshire. Not a huge place (73k) - about half the population of Blackpool. Wandered aimlessly into the tiny HMV store there, and they had it.

Just crossing my mind that Noel said Liam basically stopped the "best of the 00s" compilation coming out. How much of a say does Liam have on this kind of thing?
The rumours were that he wasn't happy with how many Noel sung tunes there were on it. Guess that's because Liam would only ever put vocals down on album tracks and the Andy/Gem written tunes in the 00s and Noel would record everything else himself.

There are only 8 Noel written Liam sung Oasis songs post Standing on The Shoulder of Giants. Unless there are outtakes the songs that followed the magic formula were scarcely released.

So liam (who wasn't known for doing a lot of work) can't exactly have that much of an issue with so much of the unreleased stuff being all Noel. I think from a workrate for the album standpoint DBTT seemed to be the most heavily Liam has been involved. DOYS he seemed to creep back into lazy territory again.
