Anyone ever have D'Yer Wanna Be a Spaceman stuck in their head for a while? I really enjoy the youthful feeling of the song as well as Noel kinda delivering the lyrics in an un-Noel way. It's a catchy one.

I already discussed about it with our dear defmaybe00 in another place, but listening to WTSMG this morning, something did hit me while "Wonderwall" was playing. The beauty of this song is probably its ambiguousity, anyone can probably find a different meaning from it. But today I was wondering if the chorus lyrics aren't actually about Noel crying out for help because of his abusive dad. Would make the "I said maybe, you're gonna be the one that saves me" line more poignant and heartbreaking. I really don't know if Noel would open up that much in a song but if he did, he will certainly never say the meaning publicly.

I've had yet another email today from Oasis's management team about the 25th anniversary of the Knebworth gigs which is exactly the same as what they sent the other day. Honestly are they really that eager to keep on bothering fans about it nearly every day. Maybe I’ll respond to them............. 15 year old American. One of the gigs took place on my birthday. Found out info about the performance maybe a month later in either a NME, Q or Melody Maker magazine in Barnes & Noble. Pre Internet kiddos. Didn’t hear any music from the show until maybe 1999 when napster broke loose. That's a good idea to tell them something like that, I'm sure that they would appreciate it. lol. Seriously though, there's no need to keep on sending emails about something which we already know about.

Listened to Mustique Demos yesterday. Honestly sayin', drums on most of the demos (DYKWIM, My Sister Lover, IHITIK, TGITDS, BHN, The Fame) are much better than on final versions. Especially on DYKWIM - I'd describe it as an 'anger through tears' and that's more atmospheric to actual lyrics. Or maybe studio drums were just very low on actual release? My Sister Lover and TGITDS demos sound very sexy and... shameless? Very interesting feeling, never felt that before - like I was listening to smth pervert The Fame demo sounds more alive than studio for me Overall Mustique Demos in 2021 is an interesting experience. But I think I caught something important while comparing to studio's ones - BHN songs are very similar in instrumentals. It's like you're listening to the same riff over and over again. I hardly made a difference between MBM, IHITIN, IGBM!!! and most of B-sides. The length is also a thing. I didn't feel that riff repeating over and over again while listening to other albums. I was just... tired! Tired after listening! I think even with Stay Young over Magic Pie or The Fame over IGBM!!! the album couldn't be saved. Very similar songs. Very Oasis-ish. I haven't listened to those demos in a long time but then they're not something which I go back to very often anyway.

Watched the TV series Gimme Gimme Gimme for the first time in years. So funny how Kathy Burke is convinced that she is Liam's true soulmate

Watched the City of Manchester Stadium 2005 gig for first time in years recently. I’d forgotten how ropey Liam’s vocals were. It’s not all bad - Lyla and Turn Up the Sun are pretty great - but f*ck me, the lows are low. Songbird in particular is horrendous. Painful to watch. Great memories of the gig overall but I’d take LG’s 2017 onwards vocal to this any day You can tell Noel thought the same thing because Liam is so low in the mix you can barely hear him at some points. RNRS is a good example. I hate this DVD, too many shots and the audio mix is awful. Like you said, sometimes you can't even hear Liam, but when you listen to Little by Little, you can't hear Noel during the verses. It sounds like it was recorded in a van in the parking outside the stadium. And why were Morning Glory and Champagne Supernova cut?

I never really liked Little By Little until today. What a tune! Little By Little is great and I've always loved it. It's just a pity that it was released as a double A.side with She Is Love as it should have just been released as a normal single and with two b.sides instead as She Is Love isn't even single material.

I was just... tired! Tired after listening! I think even with Stay Young over Magic Pie or The Fame over IGBM!!! the album couldn't be saved. Very similar songs. Very Oasis-ish. Taking off It's Gettin' Better (Man!!) for The Fame would have made the album considerably worse. Yea, Be Here Now has some quality issues but they made the right choice with the songs they put on it (minus Magic Pie over Stay Young). If anything, I think the album could use one fewer song but that would come with making enough cuts to some of the absurdly long runtimes that exist. One of these days I'm going to do a once-and-for-all BHN edit of my own so I can stop mulling around about how I'd have it but it's fun to discuss. With that said, I'd take out Magic Pie and put Stay Young after Fade In-Out then make cuts to Stand By Me, The Girl in the Dirty Shirt, It's Getting Better (Man!!), and All Around the World, especially, as those songs dearly need it (others need less repetition too). I'd also have All Around the World earlier in the album too to sweeten the Reprise instead of having just one track between the two.

It's a catchy one. I love playing that song on guitar. The chords, the guitar melody, singing to it. It's tricky at first but it really hits once you get the hang of it. That's one of those magical songs from '90s Oasis that just made the band so special.

1. DYKWIM 2. My Big Mouth 3. Flashbax 4. Stand By Me 5. I Hope, I Think, I Know 6. The Girl In The Dirty Shirt 7. Don't Go Away 8. Be Here Now 9. It's Gettin' Better Man (!!) 10. All Around The World I miss Fade In-Out with this tracklisting and Flashbax feels like an odd inclusion so early in the album, but that is a good concise tracklisting. It would be cool to see a tracklisting like this with the AATW Reprise combined with AATW.

I'm not a fan of those we-have-a-drop-D tune on the record thing. I see what you mean. I'll edit the tracklist with The Fame - any fucking happy tune with Liam on vocals could do no wrong

17:27 Liam off his nut on mandy gets reminded by Noel that the song isn't over. Great show, horrid mixing, but man what I would give to be transported to it. That's peak Oasis in its most stripped down form with all the media hype to boot. Give me that, Gleneagles 1994, Maine Road, Earls Court 1995, GMEX 1997, and Knebworth to go back to, and I'd be happy.

I don't even really dislike She Is Love like the way others do on here, but what was he thinking releasing a double A side of two songs without Liam? It just seems very odd to me. And I like Noel's singing it just seemed like a weird decision to make.

I'm sure plenty on here have pointed out Noel's spotty picks when it comes to songs for albums instead of singles, or what live gig to release, but I think most would agree Finsbury 2002 deserves to be heard and seen.

Take out Magic Pie, put All Around the World after Fade In-Out, shorten up some of the songs, and you have a good version of Be Here Now.
