I’ve been listening to the Definitely Maybe Whitfield Street studio masters, and I can’t remember: were these from the original Dave bachelor produced sessions? Or the second round of recording (Olympic studios, or sawmills?)
I used to be so smart, I used to know all these things. Now I feel like I have perpetual brain damage. Anyone else in their mid 30s get this?

Peter Doherty borrows a snippet of Don't Look Back in Anger on his new album (out today). Which track? Someone Else To Be. It's a combination of The Velvet Underground’s Ride Into The Sun and DLBIA, two songs he loves.

"I'll never say that I won't ever make you cry..."
You're damn right in saying that, Noel. Talk Tonight is a beautiful masterpiece of a tune that brings a tear to my eye for its raw beauty, especially when considering the story behind it that is noted in the Supersonic doc.

These unique discs contain multiple alternate versions of songs from Definitely Maybe sourced from the recording sessions at Monnow Valley and Sawmills recording studios, amongst others"

Everytime I listen to Definitely Maybe I think Shakermaker is a very odd choice as a 2nd track. I think it kind of kills the momentum built by Rock 'n' Roll Star and slows the record down. I still like it though and I would go crazy if one them would play it live now but I don't like it's placing on the record.

Swap those two tracks. but it's hard to quibble with an album as good as that though.

1. Rock 'n' Roll Star 2. Supersonic 3. Live Forever
Would have been the most iconic opening to a British debut rock album ever.

So inspired by the posts above I thought I’d post my current DM alternate playlist from songs definitely written at that the time of release. I actually think DM is perfect as is and feel bad about MWC but Whatever is the better song and doesn’t go anywhere else
1. Rock n Roll Star 2. Supersonic 3. Live Forever 4. Sad Song 5. Columbia 6. Listen Up 7. Bring It On Down 8. Cigarettes & Alcohol 9. Digsy’s Dinner 10. Slide Away 11. Whatever

That River Plats bootleg would have been great if Liam and Noel hadn't swapped microphones. Terrible mix.

I've noticed that 99% of pro shot Oasis live videos have tracking close up shots of Liam singing.
Understandable, it does look pretty fucking cool.

The Saturday night at Wembley Stadium two months later is considered the last great Oasis gig. I saw them at the Roundhouse for the gig a few weeks later that for some reason made it onto the Time Flies release. Very strange night. Reminder to always thank based Alisson from Oasis News Brasil for managing to get hold of the DVD (I think?).

I believe the 2nd night at Wembley in 2009 was supposed to be released, they filmed the whole thing for release. Noel blocked that one.
