Oasis fans never liked the Beatles influence on the band, and as the band made more and more influences prominent, the less popular they become as a result. Absolute rubbish. Supersonic, their debut single, contains both a lyrical AND a musical reference to the Beatles. Plus they have always taken cues from the Beatles appearance wise.

Don't know why this is the Oasis live video that I'm returning to the most, but it may have something to do with the contrast between the ferociousness of the song and how Liam looks like Milhouse from the Simpsons. The combination=gold.

Just realised “another sunny afternoon” is a kinks reference
Ray and Dave
Liam and Noel
sibling rivalry
wibbling rivalry

Musically it has a slight resemblance to My Sweet Lord's solo but it doesn't sound like a Beatles song. My original comments were slightly taken out of context. I think that fans loved the early raw punk sound with lydon esque vocals and that wall of sound and that was Oasis. For me, that was nothing like the Beatles. I think as time went on they played up to the tag of rip offs far too much and gave the critics so much ammunition. I think the biggest examples of rip offs all come in the years they weren't as popular (I'm Outta Time etc). I didnt mean to say it was the reason for them being less popular, i just don't think fans got in to the band for the Beatles rip off sound.

Watched Noel @ Werchter today. Was enjoyable. Must say, this is where I've landed though Pretty sure this is the bootleg I signed up here to grab. Even with all its flaws, still a thing of beauty

Haters gonna hate IMO... great tune. Probably listen to it again Is it a bit derivative? For sure. What's new? Got an energy, a jump and a positive message. This is one of the tunes I usually play from this record. There I said it

Anyone know anything about the Cigarettes & Alcohol demo? Where it was recorded or anything?
Never mind. Turns out it isn't even a demo. Pff.

Spent the weekend at a weekend in Didsbury & Burnage in Manchester. The boys old stomping ground. Didn't get to make it to Sifter's unfortunately.
Champagne Supernova made an appearance at the reception, good old sing-along.

It's appalling how terrible the UK version of the Live Forever video is compared to the US version.
And the US version is average at best.
Great tune though.
