Ok i've had this laptop 4 years next month, i've never had any problems with it, I have 694gb of 909gb free in my local disc c, I have 2.44gb free of 20.1 in my local d.
It's only been since last month upgrading to windows 10, the thing is from day 1 i never put in a recovery date, so i can go back & do a system restore, I am the worst when it comes to computers, Is there any possible way of fixing this?
Today my laptop started up, i started just listening to few songs on my media player, within 5-10 mins, it just went off, I have noticed when my lead is in to charge it, then it's fine.
It crashes if the battery is on 80/90% so it cant be to do with the battery i guess.

To do this when booting up hit F8. Sometimes rare, corrupted driver. Roll back your audio driver or look for an updated patch on the manufacture's website that's windows 10 base. if continues www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISOCreate a bootable USB,so you can do a recovery be careful your saved data.

But Seriously, yeah, next time, buy a Mac. Windows is shit. Mac used to be shit 10 years ago, now it's very stable. You should try and find a software online that can check your hardrive, especially system files, i'm not expert when it comes to Windows. But that should exists somewhere.

Ok i reset my laptop & it still crashes, i actually reset it, though it's still windows 10, but now i have another problem, i have adverts all over the fucking screen, on this page, ebay, amazon, for some reason it's ok on facebook & youtube? any ideas? i typed in adblock, went to the page, there's no actual dl, just says add to chrome, the icon is in the top right of page, with a number of blocks it's stopped, but adverts are all over the place, i feel like quitting with all of this, it's insane.

hey there i installed bit defender, done scan, i have no threats, what is this linuxmint for? will it get rid of all the adds & stop my laptop crashing? also when i've clicked on this list, there's a lot of options, could you let me know which is best to d/l please. If i had never upgraded to windows 10, i'd have no problems at all right now, first thing that happened was my laptop just randomly going off itself, then after me restting thinking it would help, i now have ads coming up all over the page. i have tried ad blocker & a few others but none of them work, in the top right corner it shows ads that have been blocked, but adverts are still appearing all over the page. I really appreciate your help.

If you have master boot problem or boot record repair. answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/windows-10-update-restore-the-mbr/7c8db22e-3411-466d-b697-cfb2a1cf46f5?auth=1possible ccleaner remove cache www.piriform.com/ccleanerAlso, go to your C drive right click on properties and tools scan disk check errors. Next time you boot up, let it check the disk to see if your hard drive has cluster errors. I wouldn't suggest for you to go to linux base. I gathered you're the average user with mainstream programs.

I really appreciate your help. If you switch to Linux Mint (or any Linux distribution for that matter) your chances of getting adware, malware etc. are close to zero. I've also found boot times to be far quicker than Windows. It really depends what you use your laptop for. What applications do you use the most?

I disconnected my charger lead after using the chrome cleanup tool, because it's solved the adverts popping up, but my laptop still crashed, so should i removed the windows.old folder, using the link above, maybe that might be the cause of it crashing? I am in 2 minds about it, because when i had windows 8, it never crashed, my sisters bf says he has the windows 8 disc, so i could install & go back to it, i think, though i thought after a month with windows 10, you cant go back??
