Inspired by the heathen chemistry vs DGSS thread, what is your favourite of these two

Are you fucking serious? DBTT, by quite some distance. BE was atrocious and doesn't even earn the respect of being mentioned in the same sentence as DBTT - the album that revived Oasis.

Really? Come on. None of Beady Eye's albums are as good as ANY of Oasis' albums.

We’re attacking him, yet he didn’t even say he preferred BE himself. Haha.

Both too mediocre to spend any time comparing.

Did it balls revive Oasis, it had one beltin' song on it, one really good one, and a couple of others that were quite pleasant. The rest has aged horribly.

Love one another! ...but Andy Bell's best song is on there! and I actually like Dave Sardy's production

It did age horribly (more than the 90s albums, oddly enough) but at the time, this really was a big album, some sort of comeback, for Oasis.

The only songs on DBTT that I listen to regularly are TUTS, Mucky Fingers, Lyla, and TIOBI. The only track I listen to regularly from BE is Flick of the Finger. Maybe you can guess which one I think is better.

BE's a good album, but Don't Believe the Truth has my vote, no doubt. I'd rank it as the fourth best Oasis album, behind the trilogy (MG, DM, BHN), and there's a really cool beauty in it with how the tracks all flow together well enough to allow the best of each track to be highlighted. As a result, the songs considered to be filler, like Love Like a Bomb, The Meaning of Soul, and A Bell Will Ring, all sound really good within the context of the album, and it makes you appreciate those tunes more than you would if you had heard it without the other songs around it.
Like I said before, BE's a good album, has some really good tunes on it. Start Anew, Soon Come Tomorrow, I'm Just Saying, Iz Rite, Flick of the Finger, Soul Love, and Ballroom Figured, they're all really good, but the others get let down by bad lyrics just a bit (Second Bite of the Apple), and a lot (Don't Brother Me, Shine a Light), while the other one feels a tad bit bland (Face the Crowd). Had The World Not Set in Stone replaced Face the Crowd, Off at the Next Exit replaced Don't Brother Me, and Back After the Break replaced Shine a light, I think BE would've been the really good album it was shaping up to be, if not let down for aforementioned reasons.

Some strange polls popping up these days.
Anyway, it's got to be Don't Believe The Truth, no question about it - it was a great era for Oasis.

I agree with everything said here about DBTT, definitely the 4th best studio album for me and has a fantastic flow making the filler tracks excellent, I'm almost as sentimental about this album as I am about the top 3. Well said Indeed. I still love SOTSOG, but rank it slightly below this wonderful album (whereas HC and DOYS lie shamefully joint last for me, with only a few good songs on each) However, I am not a fan of BE mainly because of Liam's poor recording voice on this album, even though some of the actual songs and production are pretty good. But aye, DBTT, mucho love <3

You could make a really good two-track playlist out of the both of them...

DBTT is a hugely overrated album imo. Yes, there are 3 or 4 really good songs on it, but so much filler it's unreal - barely better than HC. BE pretty much follows the same pattern, but with better filler imo; I'd rate them the same, with BE taking the lead if we take into account the bonus tracks (which are insanely good).
