Querrey M.Zverev Anderson Lorenzi Shapovalov Carreno Busta Pouille Schwartzman
One of those players will play his first slam final in 8 days. For the connoisseurs, what's your bet ?
I'd either put my money on Querrey or Anderson but everything seems possible in this US Open.

It's been an odd tournament so far and it wouldn't surprise if we get a first time winner this year. There's a feeling that the time of the Big 4 is starting to come to an end. I wonder if Federer can sneak in a 20th here as Nadal seems to be suffering from nerves again after leaving the red dust and the Next Gen have been whittled down.

Yeah, Roger and Rafa seem to be both suffering from some kind of injuries. What's exciting about this tournament is that everything seems possible. I'd love to see Roger win it but can't see it happening after the first two rounds. It can be either an experimented player or a young one that takes the crown.

I'd love to see Del Potro lift the trophy again. He's such a talented player who could have won more if it wasn't for the countless injuries he's had to endure.

That Thiem - Del Potro is a weird match but there is a lot of suspense. Juan Martin was led 2 sets to love but now, it's the 5th set.
We already know 3 of the quarter finals:
Nadal - Rublev Querrey - Anderson Carreno Busta - Schwartzman

It's a good win for Del Potro and hopefully he's got enough in the tank for a great quarterfinal against Federer.

Well, I'm a bit disappointed but not surprised. Roger seemed to suffer of some injury since Montréal but anyway, well done Juan Martin.
That semi-final aginst Rafa is gonna be great, for sure.
Anderson - Carreno Busta is gonna be very interesting too. I'd put my money on Anderson though.

Been a bit of a shit Grand Slam, this, apart from Delpo's resurgence.

Well done Del Potro! Was a shame how injury stricken his career has been, and glad he beat Roger!

Anderson will play his first grand slam final. Absolutely incredible for the guy. Before this US Open, he only ever played one quarter final, it was two years ago against Wawrinka, here in New York.
Plus what's doing Del Potro right now against Nadal is amazing.

The Nadal / del Potro match was a great substitute for Nadal vs Federer and I would have been happy for either to win. It's great to see Nadal has played into form and I'm hoping he can carry it through to the final!
Hopefully we can see del Potro in this form next season too. He's a great player to watch when he's en form and can beat anyone.
Vamos Rafa in the final!!

Roger's fifth consecutive victory over Rafa - outclassed him 6-4 6-3 in the Shanghai Final!

Poor stuff from the maestro there. How he let Goffin take the aggression I'll never know.
Thank God Noel is releasing such amazing music...

At least, I agree about half of your post Yeah, I don't know what happened to Roger after the opening set. And even in the first set, he wasn't playing that well. But after that, well, he lost it. Too many errors with his forehand aswell. Dimitrov - Sock tonight. May it be a good game.

Interesting comments from Roger today questioning the state of tennis saying that a 36yo shouldn’t be the favourite at a tournament

Here are the quarter finals
Nadal - Cilic Dimitrov - Edmund Chung - Sandgren Federer - Berdych
Sandgren is the great story of this AO. 26 years old, not a single match won in a grand slam before. He has beaten Wawrinka and Thiem to take his seat in the last 8. Chung has been impressive so far, beating Zverev and Djokovic.

Incredibly strong set! He's smoother than ever, how does he do it? His shoes are going to be impossible to fill.

This has been the only thing to make me genuinely, actually happy in months. I love you, Roger, one of the very greatest sportsmen who has ever lived.
