Spent a few minutes in HMV yesterday Massive Attack - Protection My Bloody Valentine - Loveless* Primal Scream - Riot City Blues * (The 2-disc thing with one remaster on one disc and another on the other seemed random...)

Last album I tried to buy was Carl Barat and The Jackals' 'Let it Reign', but my card didn't work, which started a whole thing. Wasn't able to buy it in the end. Which is a pity, I don't know how I haven't bought it yet. I'm a huge Libertines fan, and I've been listening to songs from the album on Spotify, which is not a way I like to listen to music, and it's a great record, very consistent. His most tuneful since 'Waterloo to Anywhere', his most consistent since 'Up the Bracket' and his best since 'The Libertines'.A great return to form after rubbish first solo album and second DPT record, as is the new Libertines record. The first DPT album is something else I've been listening to a lot, and its a really, really great record, probably unfairly forgotten now, but there are a huge number of great tunes on that album. He really can make a great record on his own, and he's on a roll at the moment, it's great to have him back. He did a better job polishing and finishing Pete's songs on 'Anthems for Doomed Youth' than he ever has before, which really showed their chemistry. He was essentially doing the same job that Drew McConnell did for Babyshambles' 'Sequel to the Prequel', which wasn't bad, but was a bit naff, and IMO the first Doherty album not to be a classic. If Carl maintains this run of form, and contributes more of his own tunes, and Pete feels inspired by bringing the old band back together, and writes and mostly completes some songs of the standard he's capable of producing, another Libertines record could be a very special thing indeed

On Amazon I can only see digital copies and a bit of Googling seems to imply it was a Record Day vinyl special (sold out on FSOLDigital)...

On Amazon I can only see digital copies and a bit of Googling seems to imply it was a Record Day vinyl special (sold out on FSOLDigital)... Yeah it got a physical release for Record Store Day. The vinyl edition has a different track listing and more remixes compared to the digital release, which was only 15 tracks. There are a few copies for sale on Discogs. www.discogs.com/Amorphous-Androgynous-The-Cartel-Remixes/release/5603695

Sadly, Adele's latest. It gets worse though. 10 copies of the damn thing. Stocking stuffers. I of course hate myself for this.
