As much of a joke as Southgate is to England, even he did much better than Strachan at Middlesbrough. Good players in good form won't get a look in for sure.
England to win 3-0 while we pump aimless balls up to Chris Martin (and judging on his awful selections the last few months, I expect it to be the lead singer from Coldplay).

Strachan will probably leave Brown on the bench.

Right troops, predictions for Friday night? England are pish, but we are way way pisher. We'll probably spend the evening lumping baws up to thon dumpling Martin and concede 3 or 4 soft as anything goals, Strachan will walk and Brown will go back into retirement.

2-0 to England in an absolute dire game, with both teams pumping balls up in the air.
World Cup hopes killed stone dead and Strachan sacked.

England were clinical, we weren't. Got to say it's the poorest pool of centre backs I have seen for Scotland. For all of Strachan's faults, his hands are tied in that area.

Immensely predictable result. England weren't even that good yet steamrollered us.
When are the the SFA and clubs going to sit up and realise this isn't good enough? There's absolutely no sign of progress in the grassroots area and coaching wise, we are typically lagging behind. Derek Rae spouting shite on the TV as if Scotland were playing well - that's another thing, a grievance complex that makes some ex-pros think that we don't deserve this. We absolutely do and its that kind of complacency that has led to such utter shite out on the field.

SFA bottle it. Strachan stays.
No good manager around eh? Maybe not any decent Scottish candidates but they need to go down the foreign route personally. Lars Lagerbeck was mentioned - did brilliantly with Iceland in Euro 2016 and also with Sweden prior to that. Sure, Scotland ain't as good as either but he'd at least instil some basic organisation into this lot.

Only a month and a half until Maddison's loan ends, going to be a very sad day He was fantastic again yesterday, strolls past people like they aren't even there and is our best midfielder by a considerable distance. This of course means McInnes will drop him for the final and play our best left back in centre mid instead.

Exploiting the loan market has been working for Aberdeen though in recent times so I wouldn't be surprised to see movement in January.

Cup final fever well and truly kicking in now, can't wait. Strangely confident considering we were lucky not to get completely humped last time we played Celtic.

Hertz have a bigger turn/over, bigger attendances and a bigger budget than thon smert club Neilson is away to. He sees it as a gateway to a bigger club. Good luck with that Robbie.

Nervous as fuck for the game today, want to continue our 100% record against Sevco 2012. Mind you we haven't won at Mordor since I was -3 years old so there's that. Hopefully not a performance as shitebaggy as last Sunday.

Ian Cathro's appointment at Hearts hopefully sets a new trend and culture in Scottish football's approach to coaching and management. For too long, the game in Scotland has been mired with tactically limited and technically poor coaches who have failed to grasp the advancements in modern football. It's far too parochial minded and it's been proven in the sneering and condescending attitude towards Cathro from the likes of Kris Boyd (who probably thinks a laptop is a dance).
The guy absolutely deserves his chance, and has been appointed on merit for his coaching abilities. His open-minded approach and willingness to educate himself of various footballing cultures on the continent gives him a broad basis of methods to draw upon, as opposed to the insular tactically limited approach of Scottish footballing culture. It is absolutely bizarre, considering the experience he has gained already at such a young age, that some are quick to denounce him and shows a shocking level of ignorance. Having not played professional football should not be a black mark against him and the two are not incompatible, especially considering most of the greats in football management have had pretty non-existent playing careers.
The attitude against him from some aspects of the press really sums up why Scotland is so low in the world rankings. An almost pathological fear of anything that is different to the status quo, and a deluded faith that the current ways of coaching that are 30 years out of date will raise the level of performances. Cathro's work at Dundee Utd alone (even neglecting to mention the work he did in Portugal and Spain, and was so good he was the only coach Rafa Benitez retained at Newcastle) proves he's the man that Scottish football needs more of, and even though I'm not a Hearts fan, I think it could be a really exciting appointment for Scottish football. If he does well, I hope that his influence carves out a more open minded and forward thinking culture in Scottish football.
