I received a text from Mikey Rowe yesterday and about Here's a Candle he said: 'We recorded that for the first album so it's been about for years. Glad it's finally out' If you wanna listen to Mike discuss Noel's working practices, you can by listening to Episode 1 of the The StageLeft Podcast at www.thestageleftpodcast.comPLUG PLUG Yeah I thought it was firm HFB1 sessions cos the riff sound like the riff in Dream On in the outro

You can also hear the production is more HFB1 than Chasing Yesterday. It's also more in that mood.

I thought it sounded a lot like something randy Newman would've done. Not what I was expecting at all.

Doesn't Beck play the banjo? He fucking does, among a shitload of other instruments.

Just listened to this. For a throwaway, it is absolutely charming. Noel's actually really great at writing charming light ditty. Other throwaways like, Leave My Guitar Alone, I'd Pick You Every Time, etc. seem effortless and come naturally to him.
She's Electric and Digsy's Dinner are classics, if you understand their context. This isn't on that level, but I'm glad Noel is still writing laid back songs like this. It doesn't fit on CY, and I wouldn't want it as a-side (would have to have a little more substance), but as a bonus track/b-side, its perfect.

I've said more than once before, songs like She's Electric and Digsy's Dinner are Noel's hidden masterpieces.

I can definitely see this being played if a gig falls on any of the bands birthdays.

just heard this song, I love it!!! Why this was never officially released is beyond me. Its a perfect direction for Noel to take for his next album.

Never understood why people don't like She's Electric and Digsy's Dinner. SE has some of Noel's best songwriting and Digsy's is so charming but put over the edge of being awesome with Liam's vocals.

I really like it too, great great song again by Noel. But I can see why he chose not to put it on chasing yesterday as (like leave my guitar alone and I'd pick you every time on NGHFB) doesn't really fit the flow. But it's not that its less quality then some of the album tracks, imo.
