I beg to differ. We know "The Roller" was demoed all the way back in the winter of 2000 and was recorded during Heathen chemistry. Pretty sure the HC and DBTT versions aren't far away from the one on DGSS. Sounds just how Noel described it back in 2000. Instant Karma meets T-Rex. Boy With The Blues was also recorded during DBTT but Noel says the ending wasn't right. I disagree. There even is a picture of McCartney dropping by the studio while recording that song. Would love to see that picture, honestly! I've yet only read about that visit. Regarding BWTB, I believe that Noel actually liked the ending (they could have edited it anyway) and that basically the missing chorus prevented it from being the a-side of that EP that should not be. However, I think that Lord Don't Slow Me Down is the only single worthy leftover material from that period. And I also prefer the Noel version because it was completely out of Liam's vocal range at this point. Could have been a great release to accompany the release of the movie: 1. Lord Don't Slow Me Down 2. Boy With The Blues 3. Record Machine (Liam vocal) 4. The Good Rebel 5. Ain't Got Nothin' 6. Stop The Clocks (Liam & Noel vocals) I also wonder if they really tried to record The Roller for DBTT. All we know is that it was written and probably demoed in 2000/2001 (with Noel on drums, that's all he could remember). It's a shame they couldn't manage to record it properly, I think every record MK2 made would have profited by its inclusion, especially Heathen Chemistry. That would've been interesting. Then it would've set up a DOYS track listing like this (sorry for another one of these!): Bag it Up The Turning Waiting for the Rapture The Shock of the Lightning I'm Outta Time (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady Falling Down To Be Where There's Life I Believe in All The Nature of Reality Soldier On Either that, or just replace TNOR with Come on Outside, and take out GOYHHL, to make it your own custom one, or whatever you like, it's up to you lol

I will post my ideal DOYS tracklist once again: 1. Bag It Up 2. The Turning 3. Waiting for the Rapture 4. The Shock of the Lightning 5. I'm Outta Time (Alternate mix, similar to demo) 6. To Be Where's There's Life (Alternate mix, similar to Richard Fearless version) 7. Falling Down 8. I Wanna Live In A Dream (In My Record Machine) (Liam) 9. Come On Outside (Liam) 10. The Boy With the Blues 11. Stop the Clocks (Liam/Noel duet)

BAG IT UP THE TURNING WAITING FOR THE REPATURE THE SHOCK OF THE LIGHTNING I'M OUTTA TIME COME ON OUTSIDE (Liam) FALLING DOWN TO BE WHERE THERE IS LIFE (RICHARD FEARLESS VERSION) I WANNA LIVE IN A DREAM IN MY RECORD MACHINE (Liam) BOY WITH THE BLUES * Hidden track after 5-6 minutes WAITING FOR THE RAPTURE (Acoustic Noel Version)

I just threw that in there so that way, in a hypothetical world that exists in our minds, Noel wouldn't have AGN as one of the songs to choose from with the DOYS track listing.

DBTT's track list cocked up as any other LP the band released. It's dumbfounding some tracks missed the final-cut a second or third time on DOYS, but at least Noel can use stylistic theme as some kind of excuse. 1) Turn Up The Sun 2) Mucky Fingers 3) Lyla 4) The Roller 5) The Importance Of Being Idle 6) Lord Don't Slow Me Down 7) (I Wanna Live In A Dream In My) Record Machine 8) Part Of The Queue 9) Stop The Clocks 10) Boy With The Blues 11) Let There Be Love Liam gets a track, Gem gets a track, Andy gets a track. Everyone's happy. Love where your heads at but this track list has too many albums closers at the tail end.
... Agreed. For me, these were the best 11 tracks (at least that I know of) at their disposal at that particular point in time, but STC, BWTB & LTBL is a unsatisfying flow of songs that are all wrestling to be the deserved album closer. As fantastic an album it would be songwise (the best since MG IMO) it's sure not a smooth ending. If forced to make rearrangements I'd probably save BWTB for the more thematically similar DOYS and bring in an extra track elsewhere. Probably one of Guess God Thinks I'm Abel, Eyeball Tickler, The Meaning Of Soul, Who Put The Weight Of The World on My Shoulders? or Revolution Song (which I'd have probably used up on a previous SOTSOG/HC tracklist). If Four Letter Word was around like I've heard rumoured about, I'd probably use that as a heavier Liam song would be very much welcome.

As always, I beg to differ with Mr. Sardy. These were better than several album tracks........ - Stop The Clocks - I Wanna Live In A Dream In My Record Machine - Boy With The Blues - Lord Don't Slow Me DownShame on you Dave Sardy and shame on you too Noel Gallagher for letting him have such power.

Reading some of these track listings actually makes me want to cry, it's the one big thing about Oasis that drives me mental to this day, DOYS could of been their best ever album, yes that's right, better than Definitely Maybe!
I'd of gone with this:
1. Bag It Up 2. The Turning 3. (I Wanna Live In A Dream In My) Record Machine (Liam) 4. The Shock Of The Lightning 5. I'm Outta Time 6. Falling Down 7. To Be Where There's Life 8. Stop The Clocks (Liam + Noel) 9. Waiting For The Rapture 10. Come On Outside (Liam) 11. The Boy With The Blues
I mean fuck me, that right there is an absolutely amazing album. One day I really hope we get leaked versions of Stop The Clocks, Record Machine and Come On Outside with Liam on vocals so we can actually make it.
Think it'll ever happen?

If only to annoy The Doc- erm... Mean Mrs Mustard:
1. Bag it Up 2. The Turning 3. Waiting for the Rapture 4. The Shock of the Lightning 5. I'm Outta Time 6. (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady 7. Falling Down 8. To Be Where There's Life 9. Come On Outside (Liam Vox) 10. Soldier On
Notice how it isn't radically different from the album; that's because DOYS is fucking good.

Dig Out Your Soul could have been a monster. And properly psychedelic as well. I really want to hear the fabled version of Record Machine, probably more than anything else.
Do we know for sure Four Letter Word was around for the DOYS sessions?

Along with Millionaire and the beat goes on were on a cd/tape of demos that andy gave to noel, but he loved The Nature of Reality, so there's that.

I knew about Millionaire, but interesting that Noel passed on TBGO as well, I didn't know that was on there. Thought Noel would have liked that one for some reason. So cheers for the info
