^ I'd take The Nature Of Reality over those two any day. I would takr 4 letter word. The riff(forget aboit the lyrics) of nature of reality and the other two? Erase them.

If only to annoy The Doc- erm... Mean Mrs Mustard: 1. Bag it Up 2. The Turning 3. Waiting for the Rapture 4. The Shock of the Lightning 5. I'm Outta Time 6. (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady 7. Falling Down 8. To Be Where There's Life 9. Come On Outside (Liam Vox) 10. Soldier On Notice how it isn't radically different from the album; that's because DOYS is fucking good. I like it, but I'd just replace Come on Outside with Boy With the Blues, since we don't exactly have a Liam-sung Come on Outside, unfortunately.

I quite like The Nature Of Reality ((GOY)HHL, AGNOY & SO too). Musically they're pretty good. Obviously Noel and the gang had a few better tracks in the canon worthy of replacing them ( BWTB & Come On Outside) but one suggestion I don't see many putting forward is Andy Bell's solo track Grapefruit. Now technically it's not an Oasis song, but it's hardly a stretch to see it placed on the album. It's a little experimental, a little bit different and something I'm sure many would see as being a progressive move. It'd probably need reworking as I've always found it sounded like a demo, but with a bit of muscle behind it and some wilder guitars (during the moments of feedback) it'd scrub up pretty nicely. I'm sure not everyone would like it, but some would see it as a step forward. It's also probably worth throwing Freaky Teeth's name into the ring as well. I'm not sure if it was demoed in the side sessions to DOYS or very shortly after, but if it was the former it'd make some solid filler which would again match the style of the album. Sorry Mean Mrs. Mustard * but it's tracklist time.
I'm not gonna include (IWLIADIM)RM and STC because I'd use them in a previous album (plus they don't fit the style album) and I'm not gonna include the Richard Fearless mix of TBWTL because I think the Sardy (I know right?) original is far better.
Dig Out Your Soul 1) Bag It Up [Liam] 2) The Turning [Liam] 3) Waiting For The Rapture [Noel] 4) The Shock Of The Lighting [Liam] 5) I'm Outta Time [Liam] 6) Freaky Teeth [Noel] [Dig Out Your Soul Mix] 7) Come On Outside [Liam] [Dig Out Your Soul Mix] 8) Grapefruit [Instrumental] [Dig Out Your Soul Mix] 9) Falling Down [Noel] 10) To Be Where There's Life [Liam] 11) Boy With The Blues [Liam]
Now where's that A&R job Lennon2217 keeps harping on about. In all seriousness it's not perfect but it's a pretty good alternative I reckon. *Not sorry

Unless you've got a good quote handy I'm going off asimarx 's speculation. Exactly. The quote says since the recording of DOYS and he made the statement in August. Well after all the work was done. A) The date of the quote proves it was written by August 08 at the very latest. It could have been written months before if not earlier. Noel's hardly a reliable source and would happily crowbar a song with backstory into an interview and streamline its dating for the sake of a better story. B) I said I'm basing its dating off asimarx speculation: Your move...

Freaky Teeth's hardly track worthy of bringing up for no good reason and upon searching where the quote came from, low and behold, he was talking about James Bond films before hand. www.nme.com/news/oasis/39763

Heathen Chemistry if it had to be an album (this period should've have been an EP or individual single)
1. The Hindu Times 2. The Roller 3. Hung In a Bad Place 4. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 5. Songbird 6. Little by Little 7. Born On A Different Cloud (better production) 8. (Instrumental) 9. One Way Road 10. It's A Crime (Liam/Noel) 11. Shout It Out Loud
Hidden Track: Revolution Song (AKA...Solve My Mystery)

Songbird 6. Little by Little 7. A Quick Peep 8. Thank You For the Good Times 9. Idler's Dream 10. Born on a Different Cloud But a combination of HC & SOTSOG would be badass imo: 1. Fuckin' in the Bushes 2. The Hindu Times 3. Shout it Out Loud 4. Go Let it Out 5. Who Feels Love? 6. Let's All Make Believe 7. Gas Panic! 8. Where Did it All Go Wrong? (Demo Version) 9. Little by Little 10. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 11. Roll it Over

Ah, I know I'm on record with my opinions on Sardy here, but I have to say again that what the band needed at that period was a producer with good ideas who yes, could take charge and even put forward track lists for the finished LP. The person for this role IMO was not a linear producer with a limited arsenal of tricks at his disposal, but either a full sound rock producer or someone leftt field such as DIV or even perhaps Dave Fridmann (Mercury Rev, Mogwai, Weezer, Sleater-Kinney to name a few). I think the success of DBTT gave him credit he had not necessarily earned, as that record's sales outside the UK picked up during the tour, which by Oasis standards was an incident free and very successful affair. Whilst I don't bear Dave Sardy any personal ill will, I can't see as a producer what he has brought to any records (including non-Oasis) I have heard that would not have been better served by a different person at the controls.

Going the EP route or Led Zeppelin style (less tracks) might have been the way but very edgey in 2002. 1. The Hindu Times 2. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 3. Songbird 4. Little By Little 5. She Is Love 6. Born On A Different Cloud 7. You've Got The Heart of A Star I knew as soon as Oasis entered the HC era, I immediately wanted them to get out of it.

Such an epic demo.To be fair, all of the singles were really good, aside from the She is Shi- I mean She is Love. Shout it Out Loud was also really good too, but I do see your point in that THT demo was something they should've continued going for, along with the kind of sound that SCYHO, SIOL and LBL achieved. That would've been a nice mix of classic Oasis, and a forward thinking Oasis.
