Very fresh sounding production, I'm not really one of the 'Sardy-bashing' gang that seems to exist on this forum but I have to say I am very relieved he isn't producing this one!
Bit of studio banter at the beginning, as was the case with a lot of the songs on the first album so I guess that will tie the two together a bit.
Slots in at second place on my favourite HFB tunes I think, The Death Of You and Me just about in first and Everybody's On The Run very close in third. My opinion changes every ten minutes though!

17,000 views on YouTube already. This is unavailable from iTunes right? Yeah....Noel is really wasting a prime opportunity to exploit the positive interest. Waiting until November 17th.........how 1996!

I could see this getting a decent amount of airplay - good catchy melody, radio friendly sound, why not.

It's brilliant. Even the nananas. Every song should have nananas.

Why can't I vote on the poll? Seems like I am never able to.

Anyone else think the nananan's (which spoil the song for me) sound like Blur?

I mean I already bootlegged the single, like many of you did as well.

Why can't I vote on the poll? Seems like I am never able to. That's because you're on mobile phone. Polls are not supported in the mobile version of proboards.

Anyone else think the nananan's (which spoil the song for me) sound like Blur? They sound almost deliberately annoying.

C# B D# G# Nana's G# B F# G#They tell me you've touched the face of god At the sound of a rope cracking on your neck They tell me you'd never give it up Like the song that was soul singing in your head So honey please don't let go Or you'll fall in to the dead of night So honey please don't let go C# B D# You've barely learnt to fly Cos their gonna point you up at the sky G# B F# C#The more that you want it The more that you need it I know that you'll be by my side In the heat of the moment When the thunder and lightning comes I know that you'll be by my side Thank you for working this out and sharing it. I've been playing it with power chords in G#, so I've put those chords in place if anyone else wanted to try it. Also, its rough but we'll work it out soon enough Like @warewolf, I think it reminds me of a mix between AKA WAL and EOTR. Anyone figure out what Noel says at the beginning?

And for those looking to play the song in "classic Noel style", you can do it in G with capo 4:
verses: G Dsus4 Em7 pre-chorus: A7sus4 Cadd9 Dsus4 chorus: Em7 G Dsus4 A7sus4
Something like that.

And I am especially tired of reading the cr*p you write in every post of yours. God, I do hate lame trolls. (sorry for the off topic rant)

thumbs up from me, i liked it on the first listen and i don't mind the nanana's.
we will see how hard some people are to please, it's a safely written song but its a new sound and vibe for Noel and the production is good. it's a little risk and thats what people wanted him to do.
its got me pumped for the album now.

I just had a weird thought. This song could become a popular gaybar anthem.

this song screams "I'm just putting the vibe out". nothing amazeballs or anything.
and I don't even think Noel cares about album or single sales at this point....it's like he said in the facebook interview, he knew (What's the Story)Morning Glory? was great. so fuck everyone else. he'd probably be more complimented by Paul Weller, myself, Paul McCarney or one of his other peers digging the album rather than going platinum at this point.
God bless.

Don't think there is any need to compare tbh. I think it would prove unhelpful and irrelevant to the thread. Mainly because Beady Eye and Noel are following different musical paths these days. Why do people keep going on about Beady Eye? They're dead. no they are not, they just don't need to proof that they are alive by knocking at your fucking door every hour, while they have an album break ...

How long until this song gets used for BPL promos on Saturday mornings? Was thinking the same thing. This song has Advert written all over it....like WAL.
