It's pretty tough to make a call whether or not it'd be good or bad. It's one of those things that you have to wait and see. It could be a lot better or so much worse. One things for sure though is that the Scottish people don't get what they deserve from England and on face value being independent makes sense but its so complicated. Bring on the result!

Are there any early returns??? last I heard polls say to close , what's the vibe ? Which way is it trending ? When will we know final results ? Polling open till 10pm (UK or should this be Scots time?) tonight big man. The first results due around 2am, last of the regions around 6am (Friday) and final result around 7am although it will be pretty much known by about 4am. As of this morning it was 53% for No and 47% for Yes after taking out the undecided. Not a nice vibe at all in some areas, especially last couple of days. Hopefully after whatever happens the nastiness disappears. The atmosphere in Scotland has been toxic, got back to Glasgow last week and you can really feel the tension. Was back in Orkney meeting my folks (where I'm originally from), it's a bit more peaceful there, but even then, the divisions it's caused there have been pretty bad. I've never seen Scotland so divided - I hope we get some form of normality back tomorrow, but I do fear there will be recriminations on either side, such as violence.

Cheering austerity. Cheering starving children. Cheering NHS privatisation. Cheering Tory cuts. Cheering being the only country in the world to vote against its own independence.

Cheering austerity. Cheering starving children. Cheering NHS privatisation. Cheering Tory cuts. Cheering being the only country in the world to vote against its own independence. Not quite, the SNP privatised part of the NHS in Glasgow to Weightwatchers. Plus confidential Scottish government papers were leaked to the press which announced a £400 million funding gap in the NHS if Scotland went independent - which meant high as fuck tax rises OR austerity. Not to mention plans to cut corporation taxes on big businesses - sounds exactly like the fucking Tories. I want social justice, and the Scots want social justice - but this campaign was driven by the wrong party in power. SNP argued the social justice argument simply to gain votes. Politicians from Westminster saying a change has occurred no matter what the result - devo max is on the way, we will get the best of both worlds from being part of the UK and greater powers. The SNP have only themselves to blame for such a shoddy and ill-thought plan for independence. But make no mistake manic, this is only the start. No independence, but the opportunity for change will come and this is where No voters and Yes voters can now come together.

No independence, but the opportunity for change will come and this is where No voters and Yes voters can now come together. It's not about the fucking SNP. Many times do people need to be told. Obviously the SNP will have to cut the NHS budget, as the Scottish government is having it's budget slashed by £4billion. If you wanted social justice you would have voted yes. It's as simple as that. Scotland is the 14th richest country in the world, with a small population, but aye, keep swallowing the shite fed to you by the media that we wouldn't be able to go it alone.

We can't afford the costs of setting up our own currency (which costs billions and billions to obtain foreign reserves), so the pound sterling would be the option. Of course, the rest of the UK have a mandate on that considering they use it (and the Bank of England controls monetary policies - NOT Westminster) and the parties might very well take a referendum to the rest of the UK whether Scotland can use it. But say if they do use it, Scotland is under obligation to continue austerity measures from the Bank of England - as I said, they control the monetary policies. Not to mention much of our wealth of public service money comes from the Barnett Formula - Westminster in other words. The fact that Salmond was hellbent two years ago on not having the pound sterling, and then he wants it all of a sudden shows that this Yes campaign doesn't even know what its doing. You can argue that the Yes campaign isn't about the SNP, but all the bullshit that's been spouted from that campaign is a mouthpiece for the SNP rhetoric. This campaign is just nationalist greed dressed up as self-determination and social justice and many who genuinely think it's about social justice have been folled - such erratic opinions from the SNP prove this.

The working class has lost to the rich and privileged. Dark day in Scotland, condemned our children to a bleak future.

I hope Scotland gets more powers as a result of this but I can't see it happening. I feel like they voted against change.

Obviously the rest of the UK wanted Scotland to remain, but it would have been interested to have seen the breakdown of that. Are there any polls showing what the rest of the Kingdom wanted?
