Thanks for your great timezone, Australia. what did you use to change your timezone? i was just thanking australia for having such an earlier timezone than my country haha, no need to change timezones to be able to listen to it, i just used a VPN (there are tons out there, i used one called ZenMate, seemed shady but its not) to make spotify think i'm in Australia (and also an australian spotify account that i created after i enabled the VPN) yea i know, complicated as fuck

Liam's vocal on Stand By Me (Live at Bonehead's - Outtake) is just outrageous.

Just remember that the Stones are assholes when it comes to sampling. Bittersweet Symphony, anyone? That wasn't the Stones though, it was their manager. Mick, Keith and co. actually had no involvement in that.

Mick, Keith and co. actually had no involvement in that. The late Allen Klein, a man who issued hundreds of lawsuits in his time and famously was against sampling of any songs he controlled the publishing rights to including "The Last Time". IIRC 'Bittersweet Symphony' was the only song he made an exception for but it cost The Verve and EMI all rights with ABKCO becoming the publishers and for $1,000 (yes one thousand dollars) Richard Ashcroft gave up any claim to publishing royalties from the lyrics.

By far my favorite Mustique demo is DYKWIM.
The heavy use of bass, the swirling harmonics and layers gives it a pho-modern sound. That song would kill today. Noel had it right the first time. The song doesn't need strings. There are just enough layers to keep it interesting but still have clarity.
It should have been its demo version.

Oasis should have headed that way in 1997 and definitely in post 2000 Oasis as well.

If Trip Inside isn't on the Mustique vinyl those promos will be worth a lot.
The instrumental sounds a bit like The Foz.

The Fame - Mustique Demo is much fucking better than the final product. Much crisper. Don't get why so many people hate The Fame. Perfect BHN song with regards to spirit and sound. Great song! I love the euphoria of the chorus "and I'm howling at the moon, is my happening too deafening for you?" Just a fun track.

Haha... I know, with the demos and all who cares... any significant/noticeable differences to the album re masters though? In all honestly, I haven't gotten around to them yet. Been mostly spinning disc 3. Gonna do disc 2 tomorrow. And so on. Keep you posted.

Haha... I know, with the demos and all who cares... any significant/noticeable differences to the album re masters though? I've only listened to an MP3 V0 rip, but it's still pretty loud. There's a slight reduction in sibilance, but the bad EQ job still exists.

I'm listening to the actual album remaster at work and was just coming on to post. It's most definitely better. Quite noticeable to my ears. Easily the best I've heard it. Love to hear a vinyl rip of this remaster!! There is better separation...if you can claim that on be here now! The individual instruments are easier to define. Easily best actual remaster of all 3. B-sides are a waste of time though. Only listened briefly to stay young to be fair but it was no different whatsoever!? (Outside of any marginal EQ)

Anything about the actual remaster, anyone? I already commented on this earlier, but I like it a lot. The upper register was too sharp on the original release. It was difficult to listen to the last 3-4 tracks on the album in a row without feeling like your ears were getting stabbed. But on the remaster the 'edges' were smoothed on a lot of tracks, and it fixes that problem. This is the only album in the Chasing the Sun collection where I prefer the remaster over the original. It does sound noticeably better.

To add. I am hearing detail I've never heard before on songs. I'm loving this remaster. Doesn't sound so much like the one big mush of sound it used to.
