One of Oasis' best b-sides in my opinion, personally it's one of my favourite chorus' they've ever done, such an uplifting song.
Any others rate it?

Something's missing, not sure what. Agree its a brilliant chorus though, with a bit more work it could have been huge

an AMAZING song. i actually love the production......it's the most echo-y i've ever heard Liam's vice and it is set low in the mix....which really adds to the atmosphere. I wish more Oasis songs had been produced this way!

The verse is good. The chorus is awkward.

7/10
Just fucking b-side, nothing less, nothing more.
Average melody...reminds me of US rock from 00' era (pop punk etc)

The BHN period is a fairly sad one in the bands history in that it was the first time that they delivered b-sides that were clearly songs that didn't deserve to be on albums.
I got the fever isn't that bad but my sister lover is a definite example of this. Going Nowhere saves the SBM single but wasn't that written in 1992? I think the lack of decent songs lying around might have something to do with why there wasn't a fourth single in the UK.

It's very 'pop' and quite un-Oasis compared to the 94-96 material.
Hated it when first heard it in '97 but if I'm in the right mood I quite like it. It's arguably better than some of the stuff that made it on to Be Here Now anyway.

I like it, it has energy and also that Oasis magic that they used to have in the 90's, but it's a bit overproduced I must say and too similar to Stay Young.

Fcking amazing tune, however must point out that when I learnt the song it's like the exact same chords in the verse as my sweet lord..

i think people who 'get' a song like this are the ones who separate the "Wonderwall"-type Oasis fans from the real rock and roll Oasis fans.......it's got that DM era attitude and balls-to-the-wall noise.
SEPARATE THE WHEAT FROM THE CHAFF YO

I like the verses but the chorus is really generic Oasis, one of the most generic Oasis choruses in their catalog i think. The trend continued with The Fame which is also very generic. Doesn't make it bad but if I'm gonna listen to it it is because of the verse melody and Noel's over the top lead playing at least on this track. I prefer My Sister Lover's coked out blues to the bland poppiness of this one. Nice melody and vibe on that track. Good leads on there too.

SEPARATE THE WHEAT FROM THE CHAFF YO don't agree about. you sound like a child who's trying to be clever. you can certainly separate Bring It On Down from this... even though it's on DM. didn't you 'get' it?

I love it, Stand By Me is one of the best singles IMO. andddd perfect thread for me to ask this lol, is it "as I SAW on the breeze" or "as I SOAR on the breeze"?? I always thought saw but then it finally hit me it might be soar and that makes more sense

It has the most feel good guitar solo they have ever done. When that solo kicks in, your mood is instantly lifted.
The invocation of such feelings is what makes Oasis so special.

I always thought saw but then it finally hit me it might be soar and that makes more sense I wholeheartedly agree. The four song set of the SBM single is one of their best and certainly the best BHN single. The songs all go really well together, fade in-out (see what i did there?) of each other and all in all, a very satisfying listen. If I could only have 5 Oasis singles, this would be one. Oh and the solo is definitely a highlight of it. Soaring on the breeze, does make more sense IMO. But Noel doesn'y always make sense with lyrics, as we know.
