Too bad for Man City and their fans, but the UEFA's decision was right. I don't think the decision will end up standing, but I think it's hard to see UEFA as purveyors of justice until they apply this same standard to clubs like PSG or Juventus. Still, what the owners of City did shouldn't be allowed and a clear punishment was in order.

It's financial doping on a huge scale plus add the fact they refused to cooperate, didn't have a defence for the clear evidence that showed them guilty and openly mocked the death of one of the judges, then it's fair to say they got off lightly. What is unbelievable is the fan reaction. A deluded, self-entitled bunch who are should think themselves lucky to be in the situation of such wealth. Nothing sums up the vacuous nature of the materialistic side of the game as much as Man City. A nothing club, whose spirit has been torn away since the billionaires came and they left Maine Road.

He's 19 years old. Absolutely incredible stats.

The fuck cares about Champions League football and all that. Beat our main rivals, another 3 points closer to the title.

Still, what the owners of City did shouldn't be allowed and a clear punishment was in order. i also think itll stand... we'd have to know the exact standards/guidelines of the FFP rule to be sure that teams like PSG are actually breaking it. apparently, they still fell within the 'acceptable losses' category to not be punished. alot of it has to do with new sponsorships off-setting the balance sheet.
ive always hated the idea of a salary cap in football (i cant see how it would work anyway), but a transfer cap may not be such a bad idea? it would limit teams buying up players that never have a chance to actually make the squad and may also put some realism back into transfer fee amounts.

I'd be amazed if the full 2 years stands after an appeal, halved at least if not overturned altogether.

Wonder how many fans Man City would have left if they went down to League Two.

Wonder how many fans Man City would have left if they went down to League Two. A good amount. There's a perception that City had no fans before the takeover when in reality they had a devoted following that kept attendance numbers high even when they went down to the lower divisions in the late nineties. You could argue some of these fans might have dropped out since the investment, but I'd say a larger amount have come to stay. I think the whole "City don't have fans" thing comes from them being more recent to big success and the silly 20,000 extra seats that they put in the Etihad in 2011 that makes it look "empty" when in reality their attendance numbers are good for a club in a working-class area. Don't get me wrong, of course it'd be nowhere close to the amount they have in real life, but you could say that of any top side who aren't "old money" like United or Arsenal. I'd be wary of those who act like City have no real support.

If City ends FFP, they'd be heroes in my book. Wonder how many fans Man City would have left if they went down to League Two. Pretty much all the City fans I know would love to go down to League Two. Three straight years of 10-0 drubbings and no VAR in sight? Sounds pretty good if you ask me!

Okay, lost 3-0. We haven’t played this shit for years but I see it as a great opportunity to learn from our mistakes. And there’s a lot to learn from this match.

Re City and FFP. They've not been banned under FFP rules. They've been banned for lying to UEFA re their sponsorship from Etihad Airlines.

A clear punishment was obviously in order, and I hope the fine and maybe a one-year ban sticks. It'd also be nice to see the same FFP investigations happening into clubs like PSG or Leicester, but I doubt that will happen somehow.

Fucking corona hysteria. I'm travelling to Poland for Finland's away game this month and they just decided they're playing it in a fucking empty stadium because of it.
The euros next?

At this point of time I dont know Why they havent posponed every game in europe until may. There are three ways to deal with it. Keep playing games with no crowds, suspend until a latter date or end the seasons and start a new one whenever this dystopian hysteria is done with.

All these games behind closed doors are useless, it's not football. So weird watching Juventus vs Inter on Sunday and Valencia vs Atalanta tonight. Just postpone football/whatever you have to do. PSG vs Dortmund, Sevilla vs Roma, LASK vs United, Barca vs Napoli, Bayern vs Chelsea and Inter vs Getafe all behind closed doors. The next 2 La Liga matchdays the same. It's shit!
