Come to think of it the last time I cared about the Olympics was 88. The year of the " dueling Carmen' s " Katerina Witt and debi Thomas both skated the long program to that opera ..thankfully Katerina won ,,,,I loved her

That was crazy DQing the Russian after two false starts at the 500 metres first heat, her skates weren't even on the ground.

Rich people sports... couldn't possibly care any less. Also Russia has really fucked up rules. Get on with the times, accept it.

The way I see it, there's only two things that really drag me into watching it.
The first is the skeleton bob sort of thing, I watch that because it's just crazy - great to watch. The second is when people fall over. I will never tire of Lycra clad, goggled "Olympians" falling over.

Canada's currently tied for the lead with the Netherlands and Norway... we can't let gdforever and her goofy fellow countrymen win the Olympics. Thanks.

You can't play in the snow all day and not work? ice/snow sports aren't accessible for everyone. You can't just practice ski, for example, you have to be able to afford it. If you want to play football all you need is a ball. You want to be athletic, you go run. Anywhere. It's not the same for winter sports.
