I think they are fucked for the Premier League this season.
Ok, 8 points off the pace isn't too devastating when there's 80% of the season remaining. But they've dropped points against mediocre sides, and got humiliated by their neighbors. You'd imagine they'll continue dropping points against the bigger clubs. 3 losses already is pathetic, especially since most Champions lose between 3 to 5 games over the course of the season.
I think if they don't shape up soon, they will have an Arsenal-esq struggle to even break into the Top 4 and the Champions League places.
Steady ye ship. Bad times ahead.

I'm probably gonna get extremely unpopular when I say I come from a long line of Man UTD supporters, which makes me a fan who cares about the club and not the glory. It is a shame about what's happened, but personally I think Moyes is doing a good job and remember, these are BIG shoes to fill. A legacy like Fergies, you know its gonna be a long tough road ahead! I agree that we're making a pigs ear out of it, but I always look at the upside to this and hope it will get rid of those undesirable fans!
Queue the music!

They dominated for 20 years and it has to come to an end at some stage. IF they can get some players in during the window and they gel quickly a top 4 finish won't be out of reach. Staying in the Champions league is essential for both money and being able to attract top players.

8 games in. No need for the panic button just yet. A top 4 finish is an absolute stone wall certainty. The only question that remains is whether we'll finish 1st or 2nd. I shall enjoy bumping this thread in May.

But IF Utd do fail to get into the CL for next season, it just highlights how fantastic Arsene has really done with Arsenal's limitations over the last 8 years.

I'm thinking Chelsea still have a good chance of coming top this season, but can't see Liverpool even being 5th (reserving the 5th slot for Spurs/Arsenal)

Sir Alex Ferguson departed Old Trafford with some strong words of support for his successor as Manchester United manager David Moyes.
In an emotional farewell speech the retiring 71-year-old urged the club’s supporters to get behind the new man, just as they backed him during a difficult period at the start of his 27-year reign. ‘I would like to remind you this club stood by me in bad times, the players and the staff,’ he said. ‘Your job now is to stand by the new manager.’God bless. metro.co.uk/2013/05/12/sir-alex-ferguson-tells-manchester-united-crowd-to-get-behind-david-moyes-3756309/

defeated by Everton at home?... Wayne will regret that he didn' t leave last summer (don' t know how is he with his contract). Well, that what i was saying, players like Filliani, Jones atc are good back up at best and the old guard should be replaced by youngsters. If I was moyes I would sacrifice this season and rebuild the team.

City/Chelsea will win it this year, give Moyes a chance, you didn't exactly sign the players you needed this year either

whilst it has been a disappointing start to the season, we are in the league cup semi, topped the champions league group, and may end up being 8 points off the top come the end of the weekend, which although i don't expect us to win the league would still make it a fair possibility.

If they beat Spurs on Wedn would not write them off in the fight for the 3rd place. Still think they can' t do better without buying two quality defenders, world class DM and anothe crative man to come up with ideas. I guess chelsea would not let Mata go to united, maybe some of the guys who went to Monaco like Moutinho , Rodriguez and might not be happy with playing only in league 1... Pastore from PSG, Praet from Anderlecht, Muniain from Bilbao. Evra, Ferdinand, Anderson, Evans, Carrick, Buttner and couple of others out to save some money for new players or give the youngsters the chance. Looks like I miss playing Football manager
