If you actually listen to the vocal, like actually try and hear it, it's really not good. If I actually read your comment, like actually try and read it, it's really not a very necessary or good comment. Denny Crane! My name on the door!

Sorry, me and my objectivity... Its opinion rather than objectivity. I mean that I attempt to form an opinion based on how good it really is and not on my inherent love of anything Gallagher. Perhaps I should have said me and my attempted objectivity. Really makes me wonder when I see people labeling it a great performance, maybe I'm just not getting it but it seems far too nasal and far too forced.

Your objectivity implies that a lot of the people that really like the are not being that. Just seems like opinions to me. For myself I'm probably between you and the others. I think its decent, nothing more.

I enjoyed the performance tbh. Through the TV as usual when watching Liam, it didn't sound that great at first but when I downloaded the mp3 (nice one icebreath) and listened, really listened through my earphones I thought it sounded great. Liam's vocals were all we could hope for really, it's not a song that particularly suits his voice live but he actually SANG the song instead of cutting every over line and the second ' So don't look down, I won't let go' was pretty awesome I thought. I enjoyed the performance from the band as well, it was nice for Andy's backing vox to actually be audible for a change and there were some nice little guitar licks in there that I'm pretty sure I've never heard on the record before but they added to the song and the performance for me

I don't care a huge amount for the song itself but its a very good performance of it. Was it sang over a backing track, because it sounds so spot on. Liam really showing some flair with his voice in extending the last words of a few lines, I really can't remember the last time I heard him do it. Love it on top of the XFM gig.

Just listened to it, all respect to Liam, and everyone who likes Liams voice, but for me this proved i'm not going to pay to see him live if this is considered good, love the attitude and tunes, just not the voice anymore, its a shame though, really like BE (and bits of DGSS)

The problem with Liam and the lads is they will forever be compared to they hey-day of Oasis, and therefore will always be shite in comparison.
When compared to the worst we've seen Beady Eye and Liam, the performance is pretty good.
It depends what you use as comparison that really determines your opinion of a Liam performance nowadays.
This is either a strong performance, compared with recent times, or a depressing display, compared with years gone by.
I still love you, Liam.

thanks icebreath. got to watch your upload this morning, enjoyed the performance a lot. got an edge that is missing on the album version. maybe guitars were too polished on the album? andy's back vocals worked..unlike the acoustic version at xfm.

If he sings as he does in that video at a gig you were going to, you would never notice anything. It would sound great. Well, if he sounded like this i'd go home a bit dissapointed. The instrumental sounds great in the video, but the vocals dont (IMO). To me it doesn't sound like singing, it sounds like shouting, just like i'd do when at a football game. In the past Liam's got away with "shouting in tune" (as he himself called it), because he had the attitude and the voice, but the voice is (again, IMO) not there anymore. Its still (mostly) in tune, but i just dont like the voice. So I can see people who like the voice as it sounds now, still like the performance, he's not out of tune, just got a (IMO) very nasal voice, shouts too much. Just my opinion on this. To the guy who said, it depends on how you compare it, i compare Liam to any other singer in I listen to, Liams no exception or anything. I'm not comparing him to himself way back, I compare him to any other vocalists and (IMO) find others often sing better. Doesn't say I dont enjoy the tunes. Most problems I have with Liams voice atm only appear live. On the album he still sounds great to be honest.

What I mean is even when Liam has had a very average night when you are actually at the gig it often isn't noticeable until you listen back to it. So what I'm saying is if he is singing like that and you are actually in the room its likely to sound pretty great

yeah he will always sound good when you're there because crowd's singing too (and you probably are singing in tune... in your own head) but I can't see how some Liam Gallagher fan cannot enjoy this performance. he's worked on his voice and thats what you'll get from now on.

I understand peoples opinions on Liam's voice and i'm first to agree on a bad performance. The important thing for me the other night was he actually "sounded" like Liam Gallagher, the one with the unique vocal. Recent performances have been awful to watch and literally an embarrassment for the man, but this wasn't.
I'm probably making no sense.

Very much agreed, people will always complain, if sang like he did at ibiza rocks people would been moaning that way, people seem to forget that Liams hey day was so long ago now (morning glory is almost 19 years old!) hes sang so many live gigs over his career its understandable that its been worn down. Remember guys most live performers would mimed on something like this, just have some respect for him still going out and singing live.
