Okay, so there's this radio show in the UK called Desert Island Discs.
It consists of a celebrity each week discussing what 8 songs they would take to a desert island, along with their choice of book and one luxury item (e.g. cigarettes, guitar).
So what would yours be?
Here's mine.
1. Live Forever - Oasis 2. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out - The Smiths 3. Racing In The Street - Bruce Springsteen 4. Jacqueline - Franz Ferdinand 5. A Sort of Homecoming - U2 6. Tunnel of Love - Dire Straits 7. Modern Man - Arcade Fire 8. Driver 8 - R.E.M.
Book: Far From The Madding Crowd - Thomas Hardy
Luxury Item: Acoustic guitar

and I'll take my all time favourite book with me:
The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner - Alan Sillitoe
Luxury Item: My loved ones

Worthy of a bump I think.
Like Kalas, I'm gonna limit myself to one song per band, otherwise it'll be an a complete Pixies-fest...
8 Songs: Pixies - Alec Eiffel Oasis - Rock 'n' Roll Star Guns N' Roses - Chinese Democracy Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy New Order - Blue Monday The White Stripes - Icky Thump Nine Inch Nails - Head Like A Hole Queens Of The Stone Age - You Think I Ain't Worth A Dollar, But I Feel Like A Millionaire
Book: Lord Of The Rings*1
Luxury Item: Keira Knightley*2
*1 I don't read so I'm just choosing a fairly long one I know a bit about. If it's rubbish at least I've solved the issue of toilet paper, huh? *2 If for some weird reason she decides to decline, I guess an acoustic guitar will have to do...
...an acoustic guitar named Keira. O-O

Can I choose the desert island? /keeps thread open at least until the next post Do many people get deserted on an island of their choice? Probably not. /thread remain open? Surely if you were able to take your favourite discs, you would know you were going to be stranded on a desert island and might have an idea of which desert island it would be. /slowly derails thread

Shouldn't this thread be a desert album selection of like 5-10 albums? Not necessarily your favorite albums, but a set of albums that would intrigue and entertain for years.
