I just wondered if anyone here could possibly help me, I've had FVC for a while now, when I paste links from youtube, then select dvd, I can play my dvd with the menu appearing normally.
well for some reason today after burning the disc, when I put my dvd into the dvd player it comes up audio ts & video ts? has this happened to anyone here before? I've wasted 5 dvdr-s now.
I haven't changed any settings or anything, just strange.

I think you burned them as data DVDs instead of video DVDs

No there's no data dvd option on there, once you've pasted links from youtube to the FVC at the bottom there's a selection of what you can choose, I says dvd, so when you cick on dvd it burns to a dvd and plays, but now for some reason it wont wok?

When you click on DVD it opens up a window where you choose quality (DVD5/9) type of menu, etc
There's also an option to burn directly, make an iso image or save to a folder. Choose save to a folder and there you can test the files before burning. It should create .vob and .ifo files.
When the process is done, try opening the folder with PowerDVD or VLC and see if it's created correctly (if it has menus for example). Then use Nero or a similar program to burn it as video DVD.

Ok so the option where I can make an iso image, I have to paste links from youtube, click dvd at bottom of screen, select iso image, then a folder is created? then I use nero to burn iso to dvd?
i'm real sorry for being a pain, most times before i'd just paste links click on dvd then I could play the dvd's normally n my dvd player with a menu, I haven't changed anything on their so im not sure why when I put a dvd into my dvd player now, the 2 folders appear video ts etc ...

There are 3 options (at least it was that way when I used a long time ago, I haven't in a while though) -Burn to DVD -Create .iso image -Save to folder You have to use that last one. You select a folder where you want to save the files, for example C:\DVD, and then it should create those two folders inside, AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS (with vob and ifo files) and save them there. Then you can test the DVD before burning it so you won't waste any more discs. Hope that's helpful

Think they've just made that functionality only for people who pay in the latest update :\ You could either find some other software to do the job without paying, or download an older version from here freemake-video-converter.en.uptodown.com/windows/old(Be careful with all of the stuff you have to uncheck on install, plus I don't vouch for the reliability of the 'uptodown' site either. Seems safe enough to me, but decide for yourself if you want to risk it) Most of the 4.x versions of the install file from there seem to still download the most recent version straight from freemake, so you have to go back a bit earlier to actually get your hands on an install package that both doesn't need payment & has the original files. 2.3.1 seems to work, haven't tried any of the ones in between, so there may be more recent ones that also work, but would take a bit of time/trial + error to find the best one.

Hey and thanks for the help, i have tried about 3 old versions, but they all say the same about activating a key, is there any other basic good software, where i can elect videos & burn to disc without having to pay & without watermarks on the screen please?

There are a few suggestions on this thread ( live4ever.proboards.com/thread/80452/reliable-spam-free-youtube-downloader ) for software that just downloads off YouTube, haven't tried them myself though. For YouTube straight to DVD, of all the software that claimed to do that, none of the ones I found (I didn't search too much tbh, so something may be out there) could even download a YouTube video correctly with audio + video. Personally, I'd recommend just using two separate bits of software, one for downloading off YouTube as in the other thread, and a separate reliable DVD burner like Ashampoo or WinX DVD Author (WinX DVD Author has a YouTube download option, but it only seemed to do audio or video in one download, not both).

It seems a complicated process you're using. I think it would be easier to just use a free program (such as jdownloader) to directly download the youtube videos.
You end up with an MP4 file you can just burn directly to DVD (as a data disc) or put on a USB. Most DVD players or TVs with USB slots will play an MP4 file directly from the disc/usb. You won't have a menu but you don't need one. When you put the disc you've burnt into the DVD player it will just list all the files on the disc anyway and you scroll up and down and click on the one you want to play.
Much faster and no reduction in quality as there's no conversion process.
Anyway, good luck with the problem you had four years ago now!
