You are aware this is just my opinion right? Sorry if that does not sit well with you that you had the need to post twice on it. Also, the city of Hoboken would be sad to hear you picked the Sex Pistols version of "My Way" over Francis'.

Sorry mate just wasn't sure you seen my first comment and wanted you to respond thats all. I just know Lennon loved Buddy Holly and i dont think he would agree with what you said, neither do I to be honest. I like the stones but their cover of that song doesn't come close to the original for me. Wasn't having a go mate just wanted to make sure you knew Lennon loved Buddy Holly.

Oh I am we'll aware of John Lennon's likes and dislikes. Nothing new learned here. He also loved the Stones too but what does it matter what John Lennon thought? This was just MY opinion. Nothing more, nothing less.

that's better because the original is an utter piece of crap, but it's still a pretty bad song

All Along The Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix (Dylan Cover) Nobody Told Me by The Flaming Lips (John Lennon cover) Plateau and Lake of Fire by Nirvana (Meat Puppets covers) miles better than the originals Out of Time by The Ramones (Rolling Stones cover) I'll have to think of some others.... God bless. Im one of the very few people who prefer dylans version to jimi's

Pearl Jam's cover of "Last Kiss". This was a huuuuge radio hit in the spring/summer of 1999. I think I heard it on the radio everyday that summer. I love me some Pearl Jam, but this cover was terrible. can't stand it, but then again, I had heard the original a ton from my Dad.

Im one of the very few people who prefer dylans version to jimi's second that, nothing against Jimi Hendrix's version but I'd rather listen to Dylan Dylan said: "I liked Jimi Hendrix's record of this and ever since he died I've been doing it that way... Strange how when I sing it, I always feel it's a tribute to him in some kind of way." "It overwhelmed me, really. He had such talent, he could find things inside a song and vigorously develop them. He found things that other people wouldn't think of finding in there. He probably improved upon it by the spaces he was using. I took license with the song from his version, actually, and continue to do it to this day

That is all Good point WirralRiddler, I have read that Dylan quote before. and of course I can't argue with the man himself or you guys with much more musical experience than me. Just that Hendrix's version never grabbed me (brilliant guitar tho, that's the highlight), maybe I should give it another listen. for a long time didn't even know Bob Dylan wrote it and was surprised and loved it when I heard it (the original album one), not a hardcore Dylan fan or anything lol but All Along the Watchtower is one of my faves
