Fuck A Rod. I may be a Yankee fan but this is second time someone claims to have injected him ... All his numbers are now worth shit , like Barry bonds he woulda been a hall of famer no doubt had he not drank the kool aid and did PHDS but he did to put up the astronomical numbers ....
Funny thing though at least bonds was able to put those numbers up A Rod will not break home run record and both now will struggle to make hall until younger sports writers who are not as militant as me and older sports writers they matter not me those writers won't vote them in .... Shame is they woulda mafpde it with there old bodies anyway , woulda made a fortune , just nota mega fortune ... But hey they made the loot so I guess there happy ,
I just hope the Yankees cut his ass eat the contract and give him away ...cut bait at this point he's a cancer anyways New York media will destroy him now

This is one of the worst plays I have seen in baseball in perhaps a decade. Poor judgement by Ronald Belisario on the pop up and later the throw to second. Part of the game is KNOWING how to field your POSITION!

This is one of the worst plays I have seen in baseball in perhaps a decade. Poor judgement by Ronald Belisario on the pop up and later the throw to second. Part of the game is KNOWING how to field your POSITION! It's part of the whole dumbing down of game man ..... Look at his follow through .. Back in the day not only did they know how to field there position as you said ... But ever wonder why so many pitchers get hit in head now ? You rarely saw it years ago because most had perfect follow through s , look at Seaver , Ryan , Koufax, Carlton , they ended up square to home plate and were excellent fielders , now since the 80 s the" power" pitchers. Like Gooden , Clemens ,Johnson , ect ect followed through out of position facing a baseline ryan thru harder and Seaver thru 96-98 in prime , Players today aren't taught proper mechanics ,or how to field or run the bases , look at Maddox he won tons of go,d gloves, look how finished square facing home plate like the greats from past ( I know he wasnt power pitcher but you know what I mean ) Sorry for rant , but you made a great point Lennon2217Edit his follow thru ain't terrible but not textbook

The more I watch Mike Trout play baseball the more I realize that he is by far the best young player in the game. Hitting and defense. Kid can do it all. Super intelligent on the base paths and field. To me he is better than Harper, Machado or...PUIG mania. Big time stud.

You could argue that Machado plays a slightly more premium position in the field and plays it flawlessly. Machado is on pace to break the single season doubles record, thats unreal. I don't think you can go wrong with either Trout or Machado, but Harper's greatness has been greatly exaggerated.

Not smart enough on defense to know when to lay up. He got hurt crashing into a wall to stop a potential double when the Nationals were up 6-0 in the 7th inning. That was stupid. He also hurt his side the week prior crashing into a scoreboard fence in Atlanta. totally unnecessary. Trout wouldn't do that. Isn't worth the price (out 30 days). If Harper plays everyday expect huge production.

Personally I think it was a classic case of overhyped team struggles out the gate and then it goes down hill as players get injured, underperform, etc. As for Davey, he is pretty old and clearly doesn't make all the on field decisions (i.e. The Strasburg debacle last year.) If they don't get things turned around quickly, many will see them as the biggest bust of the season, and that might get him canned.

He just got the dreaded vote of confidence , you know what that means ....fired ! Baseball is funny , I know managers play a role , but seriously they are a bit overrated look at torre ......he was never a genius with the mets , braves or cards , was ok in la , where was his brilliant mind all those other times ! Not a knock but I just don't buy into managers in baseball being geniuses ... Billy Martin , yes he improved mediocre teams with a small payroll ( not yanks ) but there a few examples of such genius showalter is getting there though , dusty baker even , but it's rare Let me edit this before someone quotes to disagree or tell me I forgot someone like Jim Leland , yes I know there are exceptions , just my opinion is especially in baseball and basketball much of your genius depends on your talent . Not all but most

No kidding. Puig ( and Hanley) saved his job in 3 weeks. That was my favorite Simpsons episode when I was young. Mattingly was my favorite player as a kid. Think I still have that episode on VHS.
