Something resembling milk thrown into a horse's face.
I'm against public floggings but I'll happily watch the parent if that kid being flogged, conasse!

Why does everybody watch The Crown? Genuinely, and I’m putting aside all republican motives, it is just glammed up beige Sunday night style drama. Just insufferably dull television all round.
Half expecting a revival of Heartbeat to get the zeitgeist going.

One Child Nation.
A documentary about China's one child policy in past. Was really interesting to watch.

I saw the film Waves this past weekend. What a tremendous film both in storytelling, direction, color and tone. And the soundtrack was one of the best I've heard in years. Don't read anything going in. I didn't. Pays off way better. - Tame Impala - Frank Ocean - Animal Collective - Kanye - Kendrick Lamar - Radiohead - Alabama Shakes - Kid Cudi - Tyler, The Creator To name but a few!

Finally finished watching Seinfeld a week or two ago, after starting on the first season about a year ago.
Struggled through the first three or four seasons, but then it won me over. I thought seasons 5 to 9 were terrific.

Suburra: Blood On Rome
Seriously how the guy playing Samurai didn't get an Oscar I don't know. He's one of the most menacing bosses I have ever seen. Poor Livia

Seriously Simon, breathing on food is unhygenic. My year 9 teacher would throw us out if we did that.

Roma on Netflix. Beautiful film, a slow burner but it got me in the end. The lead character Cleo is fantastic, understated but with a quiet strength.

ahh Fleabag was great. sad they're quitting after only 2 seasons It really is fucking great, especially season 2. That graffiti on bus station (животе) actually means ''oh life'' in Serbian. ''Живот'' is life but when you ''животе'' it means something like: oh life, for fuck's sake, fuck my life... Great little detail.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets I think this film--and the book it's adapted from--is a little underrated. It's still very much a kiddie film, but it does get darker when it needs to.
The director lines up some good shots, and Hogwarts feels a little creepier than last time, with the lighting dimmed and the walls all peeling away. And all the stuff down in the Chamber is better than in the book, where it feels like Rowling was rushing to get it all wrapped up in under 300 pages. Great idea to have Harry and the basilisk come face to face; that was memorable, and the model snake still holds up. Also, those sets are amazing. Really grimy and horrible, as they should be. And the snake skins and rat skeletons are a nice touch which they could easily have left out so as not to frighten the kids.
Then there's the casting. Kenneth Brannagh is brilliant, and should've been asked back for a cameo in Order of the Phoenix, and so is Jason Isaacs. And nobody could've played Moaning Myrtle better than Shirley Henderson (mad to think she was in her late 30s at the time of filming!)

Started watching Seinfeld again. Gonna watch as many as I can before Amazon starts charging for it on Feburary 1st. Then onto Curb Your Enthusiasm, which I've wanted to watch for ages but has only just been made available for streaming in the UK. Excited for that. I've fallen totally in love with Larry David's brand of comedy over the last year.
Watched a few films lately. Saw 1917 at the cinemas. Was alright, but I wasn't that bothered by it. Next up will be Armando Iannucci's new take on David Copperfield. Off the TV I've seen Finding Neverland (Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet, from 2004), which I really enjoyed; and American Psycho, which was fun too, but too horrifying for me by the end. I'm not built for that kind of thing.
