I find it funny that Triple J is sponsoring this, yet have ignored Oasis for the last 9 years. Sorry I am still fuming over a certain Haug being booted, Kingsmill the fucking grass. Wob wob wob, you piece of shit!

Triple J is a shadow of its former self in the heady days of the mid to late nineties. Granted, I'm a lot older now but the current music they play just doesn't have the bite and impact that the so called 'alternative' scene had back then. A great deal of the current music they play seems so insipid and underwhelming; lacking true heart and balls. It's more derivative than ever and not in an inspired way.
Richard Kingsmill seems desperate to keep all cutting edge (despite still playing old bastards like Tom Waites). You don't hear a lot of the great bands of the station's 'golden ara' despite the fact that several still produce quality releases- The Fauves for example. Ironically, Kingsmill himself is probably the oldest Triple J staff member by twenty years. The ditching of Oasis was very sudden- come DBTT, they basically weren't ever played again. AKA WAL has been played twice and TSOTL was played once or twice on Kingsmill's Sunday program in 2008. Remember when Oasis used to actually have FEATURE albums on Triple J? Seems like an eternity ago.
Noel has done well to sell out Enmore and almost fill The Palais despite being ignored by the smarmy youth radio station sponsoring the Big Day Out AS WELL AS the bogan numbskull radio station sponsoring his sideshow gigs.

Bdo timetable released, Noel is only playing for an hour but I suppose that is to be expected. It's a shame I won't be able to see Kanye as well, his last album was phenomenal, was hoping I could've seen him as well.

I suppose they figure that Kanye West and Noel are sufficienctly different to attract contrasting crowds. I would have thought Kanye would attract the lion's share of the audience which suits me if it means I can get closer to the front at Noel.
I wasn't sure how productive it was to have a ticket to BDO AND Noel's sideshow but at least the Palais show will be an hour and a half- that's at least 5 or so more tracks plus an encore.
There's a decent run of acts on the main stages according to the BDO timetable- The Living End, Kasabian and Soundgarden i'll be pencilling in before Noel. I'm not a huge fan of the My Chemical Romance 'emo-goth-operatic' kinda style but Hilltop Hoods will be solid and Nero to conclude the night should be interesting- don't know much about their whole dubstep thing but might be worth checking out. It's a pity there's not a marquee electronic act this year like a Chemical Brothers or Prodigy. I suppose other festivals like Future and Stereosonic have muscled in on the BDO's choice of those kind of acts.

Kasabian have been advertised as one of the BDO headliners along with Soundgarden whereas Noel is definitely second fiddle in a billing sense; he was billed as the biggest act of the second line-up announcement. In terms of timing, the BDO timetable does give the impression that Noel is above Kasabian on the bill as he is playing latest in the evening (along with Kanye). However, Noel isn't playing one of the two main stages like Kasabian (he's on the smaller Green stage). So whilst he is above Kasabian, he kind of isn't.... if that answers your question (!?!)

Does anyone know of confirmed running times for the Enmore show tonight?? Tix say that doors open at 7pm... I just rang the Enmore and they said that Noel should be on at 9pm (seems a late start). With that said, any ideas how long he is likely to play for?? (I'm trying to sort a babysitter for my 8month old!).

How was the sound? The reason I didn't go was the sound is the exact same as The Metro. CRAP!
